    Least Popular CSM Legion

So, my question is going to help determine my next army possibly, I would like to get everyone opinion on the least played/loved CSM legion. I've made a poll so feel free to use it.
My vote would go to Alpha legion at this point, don't see a whole lot of them played or talked about, but maybe that's how they like it.... I would have said NL before the novels, but I've always loved the NL lore and was a chump in 3.5 losing two heavies for the fourth Raptor squad.

I went for Word Bearers, simply because, sort of a pic or two on here I have never heard of or seen a full army of them. I assume this is because they took a big hit after 4th Ed codex when they lost aligned Daemons meaning the big reason for using them both fluff wise and on the table was gone. Most armies probably got shelved, and are awaiting next Ed. So until then Word Bearers as a legion Army would be my least popular.
And let the music of the swords make them crimson!
Hell grant soon we hear again the swords clash!

If you head over to the chaos project logs, you will see great examples of all the legions. The current codex made almost all or the none-marked legion-themed forces incredibly weak, as they all are based around unmarked chaos marines, and all competitive chaos armies are based around Plague Marines and Berzerkers lead by marked Daemon Princes.
Going by project logs, TS-themed armies are much more rare that anything else. Probably because they seem to be almost unplayable on the tabletop.

Black Legion-really not played that much. Too vanilla for most, unless you are a Abaddon fan.
World Eaters-Pretty popular for the axe to face type player.
Thousand Sons-4th edition codex pretty much killed these guys, Most players are true fans as they are pretty overcosted, but as a project army they can be pretty sweet.
Death Guard-Most popular right now. Great fluff. Great rules. Feel no pain? Yes please.
Emperor's Children-Not that popular but you can see them around. Noise Marines are overpriced, but some other good slaanesh option are out there.
Night Lords-Not played that much now. 4th edition codex again hit hard. No real rules for them.
Alpha Legion-My choice for least played. Again no real rules for them. Chosen are good for infiltrating, not scoring and eat up lots of points.
Word Bearers-I've seem a number of them played. Good fluff and good modeling options. Greater and lesser deamon are not uber but you can make use of them.
Iron Warriors-Used to be real popular in the 3.5 days, but most people have moved on to the flavor of the month codex (wolves, angels, knights.) that were using them to get an extra HS choice. Only us hardcore IW players still using them. You still see a number of them out there.

Exactly. Every battle that involves two Imperial Armies slugging it out has about a 90% probability that one of the sides is working for (knowingly or not) or has been manipulated into fighting for the Alpha Legion's own objectives. There's an 80% chance that the other army is equally influenced.

What Totgeboren is obviously far too modest to say is his own project log is in amongst the chaos logs and is an absolute corker at that. Go ahead click the link in his sig!

Oh, yeah. I voted Alphas as they are the only Legion that I haven't seen an army of in person.

Just for that, I'm going to start a plog for my Thousand sons (Rubrics need repainting anyway) of course, the bulk of the work shall have to wait till after exams, but then my Thousand Sons shall receive a paintjob that shall put there several year old current on to shame (not going to be that hard actually) :P
The thing is, the only over chaos player I have encountered was an emperor's children army.
And I second Chem dog's receomendation of you plog, your stuff is really nice and would be a joy to play against.

Yeah me too. Then they give us the vindi. I'd rather have kept the basilisk.

I don't like the Iron Warriors much personally and haven't seen a single army of them over here (which is weird as so many were said to have used them back in 3.5 due to being pretty strong) but that is just my experience. Death Guard seems to be the clear winner over here. Haven't seen any TS player either but I like the fact that I'm the only one who's playing them (even if it's just because everyone else is smart enough to use a better army but I'm way more into the hobby aspect anyways).

    Re: Least Popular CSM Legion

I don't like the Death Guard. I just cannot understand why anyone would? I mean why would you want to be a puss, pox ridden creature ugly as sin and probably stinking attracting flies and all manner of gribbly things to your rotting yet still living body?

OK so there is the feel no pain thing, believe me that is not so great. I can vouch first hand for that as parts of my body have no feelings so it does not hurt when you get injured. True you don't feel it but then you don't realise and go onto make it worse. Other bits hurt like hell, but in many ways I would much rather have that as at least then you know something is wrong.

The whole concept of Nurgle is just disgusting to me I have to admit. I would hate it for myself. The other three, well to an extent I could imagine living with them, but any thing Nurgle is just awful and to me any Legion that has a pact with Nurgle can't be that bright, which given they are supposed to have been humanities finest is a bit of a let down really.

I clicked the link and will second this. The most amazing Imperial Guard () force I have ever seen.
