    Death Korps of Krieg

I've got an updated PDF list of the Death Korps off the Imperial Armour site or something, and I'm just wondering: what makes an effective Death Korps army list, and how to use them? The models look insanely good, but how do they stack up on the tabletop?

Thematically - lots of infantry and artilliery...

Mechanically - Guard artilliery is pretty good and HWT and Comissar blobs are not terrible either. Get Autocannon HWTs for anti-transport, Comissar blob for some fighty and tarpitting and finally load up on artillery to bring down the sky. It's probably not as good as the typical chimeraspam meltavet lists, but it has a place in the current meta.

+1 to that. Although chimeras and meltavets are tried and tested, you can simply overwhelm your opponent with weight of numbers and nasty firepower. Shoot what you cant deal with and mob whatever is left with hundreds of guardsmen.

    - Infantry squad leaders and the commissars can have power fists, and a blob with 6 power fists can be pretty scary. Unfortunately there is no sprue for them that includes power fists so converting would be needed. If you wanted a really amusing conversion, you could replace las pistol and close combat weapon for power fists

    - I love heavy mortars because they are fairly accurate. Heavy quad are alright, but slow to fire make me prefer the mortar.

    - Hades breaching drills are great. Good for taking out vehicles or small squads, and an easy way to get your engineers into position to capture a weakly guarded objective.

    - One thing often overlooked is Krieg heavy weapon squads have the combined squad rule.

Overall I find Krieg a lot of fun to play and most people here are happy to see them over standard Guard, but I do find the army a bit static and sometimes hard to react to a fast strike. I usually try to shell the enemy hard, mob them with guardsmen and try to take objectives or attack exposed squads with drills and the engineers.
