    Re: Deathwatch Strike Force

I thought Id post some pictures of some of the units that I have managed to paint up. There are more pictures here due to the picture limit on this site.

    Deathwatch marines

    Rhino's

    Contemptor

After the rumour dump in the 40k section, the possibility of DW kill team rules and models is quite exciting and may give me a kick up the ass to get this army done before I can move onto my Custodes and Grey Knights.

Thats a shame I would have loved to have seen the deathwatch in the flesh, as you seem to be thinking nids I have been told that fex's love to munch through supers.
Good luck with whatever you take & see you there

Although I havent updated this thread for a while, I have been busy painting up some more Deathwatch. What you see below is just shy of 1500pts.

I still have more units ready to go, including some TH Terminators and a LR Redeemer.

Amazing! They look great together. Painting black is such a chore! (to me anyway) well done

Very nice! What bodies did you use as a base for the marines and terminators?

There are bits from almost every marine kit going - Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Vanilla, FW, Red Scorpions and Sanguinary Guard.

Nice plog, love how neat and vibrant the paint job is. What did you use on the bases?

    Great diary!

The army looks outstanding and I love how much character you have given the marines.

Are you using them as Vanilla marines when you play?

I was planning to make a similar force but make them count as Sternguard using Pedro Cantor from the Crimson Fists in the Space Marine Codex. They would count as Troop choices and would certainly look the part.

The whole army looks fantastic mate.

it would work well for me given I cannot decide on which chapter to paint - lol

    Subscribed and Happy gaming,

I used cork place mats, broken up into random pieces. The sand is Vallejo grey pumice paste, which is slightly finer than normal sand.

Thanks Allan! The army is just plain Codex: Space Marines. I havent used them yet, I think I might try and get them ready for January's Throne of Skulls tournament as it wouldnt take too much.

Great army! Love how each of the guys is so individual. My personal favorite is the bolter marine with the red scorpion honour guard head.

A minor update of my second Contemptor, from the Soul Drinkers chapter. Still some work to go including the assault cannons, just need some greenstuff for the tabards.

This stuff looks great. I love deathwatch. This might just be the inspiration I need to finish the 10 odd deathwatch models I have floating around...

Heres some shots of the finished Contemptor. The assault cannons are from the first Contemptor that I did.

Ive now started working on the Thunder Hammer Terminators. All the airbrushing is done, and Im hoping to get the armour highlighted tonight / tomorrow.
