IG 1500, Stormtroops included!

40K Army: Imperial Guard

Ok so heres a list that i am going to be using with my IG for now untill i get more infantry (i collect vostroyans so its quite pricey!) I have gone for the slightly unusual choice of taking a big squad of Stormtroopers mounted in a Vendetta for tank hunting or marine hunting etc.

Company command squad 70pts.
Company commander "Captain Eli Kerzhakov", Bolt pistol and CCW.
Lascannon.

Squad A 140pts.
Veteran squd, 3 x flamers.
Chimera with Multi laser and Heavy flamer.

Squad B 170pts
Veteran squad, 3 x plasma gun.
Chimera with Multi laser and Heavy Bolter.

Squad C 155pts
veteran squad, 3 x melta gun.
Chimera with Multi Laser and Heavy Flamer.

Squad D 85pts
Veteran squad, Grenade launcher, Autocannon.


Squad E 95pts,
Veteran squad,Plasma gun, Missile launcher.


Stormtrooper unit 185pts
10 Stormtroopers, Stormtrooper sergeant, 2 Melta guns.

Vendetta gunship 130pts.
Lascannon.

Basically the 2 infantry squads and command squad sit at home and defend while the 3 Vet squads in chimeras go off and claim objectives or counter attack the enemy. Supported by the Russes who drop pie plates on anything that moves. The Stormtroopers either jump out and melta stuff from the Vendetta or jump out and rapid fire the living crap out of some armoured up guys.

I'd shrink the storm trooper unit down- the CCS and vet squads D and E all want more weapons

I always forget that vets can take multiple special weapons! I do have a spare grenade launcher and a plasma gun. The plan is to switch the vet squads into normal troops and form a platoon.
