Best 'What if moments' for the HH do you think?

Okay so recently been studying alot of 'what if' and Alternate history literature as part of my degree studies, that and recent covnersations concerning what if with Warhammer and the HH serries got me thinking, and a lil inspired. I have to learna bout the methods and styles of each, but i genuinely enjoy this area of literature and fiction so no great issue. however friends and I were inspired by recently re-reading the Dornian Heresy serries over at Bolter and Chainsword (not sure if i'm allowed to link it or not, Moderators?) but highly recomend it to everyone! So I wondered what 'What If moments' would you Warseers be most interested to see in the HH serries so far?

suggested ones so far;

Differnt Order of Primarch discovery; Alpharius/Omegron first
Differnt home worlds for Primarchs; Peturabo on Fenris, Kurze on Barbarus.
Council of Nikea rulled in Magnus's favour
Another legion sent to chastise Thousand Sons

What if the Emperor was fully forthcoming about the forces of Chaos in the Warp to his sons?

What if it was the Empress and his daughters instead?

What if the Eldar turned to the Exodite/Craftworld mantra before their excesses caught hold?

What if the Primarchs were never kidnapped?

What if Guilleman was made Warmaster?

What if that Ork Warboss managed to complete his strangling of the Emperor before Horus could save him?

What if the 2 missing Primarchs and their Legions never went missing/stricken from Imperium records?

This, I'm thinking of writing an alternative heresy after my exams are done where Magnus does this, Fulgrim does not get possessed and the alpha legion is split in two and that after the initial heresy, there is a second one. The things that cause these differences will be minor things, the directions expecitions are set and such, am thinking the first instance of a major change would be Magnusa nd/or the Thousand sons joining up with Fulgrim for a campaign and they notice whats going on, after saving the Phoenician, Magnus and Fulgrim head to terra to confront/ask the emperor about the danger posed by the warp (The idea, that Fulgrim almost being possessed being enough to make Magnus worried about warp beings, especially as Fulgrim did not notice the Daemon sword.) Am not sure how to solve the problem the flesh change would be for loyalist thousand sons, perhaps the Emperor and his scientists work on a cure or something after this incident, perhaps the emperor noticing Tzeentch's influence on the Thousand Sons when they visit Terra.

Also, what if Eldrad had told one of the loyalist and more sensible primarchs about the betrayal thing rather than Fulgrim?

Becasue they couldn't have even if they wanted to.

If this is about Magnus and the Thousand Sons, I am implying that Magnus would not have dispersed the fleet, deactivate defenses, establish the "cocoon" and stay in his tower for most of the battle.

A simple one would be "what if Horus died on Davin?" Who would lorgar turn too?

Or you could simply just go "what if horus won", that would give you more freedom than anything.

I second the 'Magnus taking a ship to Terra instead' scenario.

Oh, and for those who are proposing 'What if Fulgrim was not possessed?' as a what if? The upcoming Primarchs book has a story that renders the scenario somewhat irrelevant
