Frankly, this sounds like one hell of an overhaul...Can you determine Hull Points based on Vehicle Type/Armor Value or is there a chart, I wonder?

Hmm, maybe. But that's not the purpose of hull-points I guess. The purpose is that some vehicles got added up with useless cheap junk (Storm Bolter & Seeker Missile for example) to make it more resilient because the vehicle would be able to suffer one more "weapon destroyed" result than without it and thus live longer. Hull-points are meant to prevent that. Of course not all types of vehicles should have the same amount of hull-points, so most of them are probably based on the previous amount of engines (1) plus the amount of basic weapons (1-3) plus/minus a balancing-bonus/malus.

No, a ravager would have 3. The total amount of armour (32) divided by 10 (3.2) and rounded down to 3.
Of course that's just me speculating of a quick fix for GW to not have to print a huge errata. It'd be a very quick fix that even someone with basic maths can do on the spot.
For vehicles with rubbish front armour they are still vulnerable to smaller arms fire, so a dark eldar vehicle is still pretty likely to be blown up before a vindicator or the like.
Makes sense on paper but then... well. I'll just shut up and wait and see the rule book I think.

Yea, I corrected it. Didn't get that you wanted to add up all "3 sides". Excuse me
3 actually wouldn't make it more sturdy than it is currently in 5th. It has 3 weapons and one engine. So currently you could say it actually has 4 hull-points (needs 3x "weapon destroyed" and 1x "immobilized").
Hull-points will not be something like "structure points" of super-heavies. If you roll a 5 or 6, the vehicle will still be gone, no matter the number of hull-points. But it will not be able to make them more or less sturdy by adding cheap rubbish-weapons like previously. It will take a fixed *max* number of weapon-destroyed or immobilized-results to destroy it completely: the hull points.

Love the new Necron characters, was honestly surprised by their release too - I didn't expect them to even get made at all! Hopefully this means the DE and other SC's will get released in time too.
A little birdy told me...
There are a few DE characters on their way soon. Like oct/nov timeframe.
w00t! Hopefully the Baron and the Duke.
Noce to see all the special characters get minis. They tend to get all the bells and whistles. A welcome change from past editions. Gives people more options than just the one cryptek/lord etc.
If you play any of Mantic's games, check out my Battlescribe project for KoW and Warpath.
I wouldn't discount the diagnosis just yet since you managed to interpret the lack of any mention of it being 25% Allies until your post since the post after ForgottenLore's where paultwilson agreed his math was wrong to mean EVERYONE had accepted the incorrect number instead of realizing it was incorrect and that somehow YOU were the only one who noticed........
Sorry no GW I will not pay twice the $$$ to buy from retail stores in Australia and no amount of adds to the hobby, support you FLGS bulldung is going to change the fact your charging twice as much.

Thnx @ stickmonkey
Hoping for Keradruakh, Duke Sliscus, Drazhar and Malys.
Got nice idea's to convert Vect and the Baron myself.
What about the vehicle Damage dice? If it were to be that you can no longer sufficiently damage vehicles with AP4 or worse, that would nerf entire armies (Eldar just my main concern).
Anything more on this front?
I was thinking the same thing, unless the AP3 dice are for AP3+. If not then this would also reduce the power of psyfleman dreads.
Do we have an idea or some news from a birdy for the release date of the DA codex ? I hope it will be just after the starter box release.
Seems to me based on the info we have that AP1-3 each have superior but different effects against vehicles that have an ongoing effect that continues to impact gameplay sufficiently for a duration of time that it will be convieniant to have a set of these dice to mark vehicles hit by weapons with the coresponding APs.

From Madcow on Heresy Online-
He got his hands on the WD, got a close up look at the Vehicle Damage dice and reports that they are not dice so much as Damage Markers. Take some salt and call me in the morning, but there it is.
