    Re: 2012 releases

Are there any details on what the July Digital monthly releases are meant to be?

@Kynth: I haven't heard anything. We assumed it would be the rulebook but I think it will be a while before we see that on iBooks. So maybe just one or more existing codices would be my guess.

Hey, look, Peter Jackson just put out some more Hobbit previews. Again.

Guess the only people strict about PR work is GW.

Really, scratch any ideas of GW being "held back". They're doing it of their own accord and any ideas to the contrary are made up by GW store employees to make their own company seem less paranoid.

Though I agree with you (haven't they said that the numbers are better the less they broadcast the release - we don't like it and it seems counter-intuitive at first but is apparently true), these aren't the same thing at all. If the rumours are true, then it doesn't mean that the Hobbit isn't being kept secret, it means that control of Hobbit information is just being kept firmly in the hands of the company making The Hobbit. Licensees aren't allowed to screw each other over, and the company making the Hobbit, by releasing too much information early for no good reason.

And the old Haemonculus models. AFAIK Drazhar hasn't actually been available for a while now, and rumour has it more DE special characters are coming before the year is up. Hopefully this will be sooner rather than later.

edit: The beastmasters seem to have vanished too...

If they're pulling them from the website now, maybe the replacements will be released next month alongside the new Chaos Space Marines first wave!

Let's hope Drazhar comes with a new sculpt, rather than a finecastization of the current one. While it's not a bad model, it doesn't fit neither the aesthetics of the current Incubi nor the illustration in the codex.

As for the classic Haemonculi, I'm afraid they will be just made into Finecast, even though multiple Haemonculus models would be ace. Perhaps we can expect one in the plastic clampack range?

Either that, or the classic Haemonculi will be sacked altogether.

People have short memories Drazhar at least is being finecasted:
    Drazhar 1 Fig Clampack July 14-Jul-12 21-Jul-12 - $19.25
The Haemonculi were not on the list so either are gone forever as there are new models for them or will be in finecast as well (unlikely).

And if you notice Tau and Inquisition metal models going its the same deal with them.

We knew Drazhar was getting finecasted. What we still don't know, and that item code does not say, is whether he gets a new sculpt or not. So it's not a matter of people having "short memories", pal, but a matter of you not reading people's posts with attention.

It's no new sculpt. At least not this time. If it was there'd be a picture of it in WD. The finecast DE amry shot in WD features the old one.
We both read the rumour, day and night,

    Appreciate the response, thank you.

Now we know it will be Codex: Necrons for July, we can always hope for August! Though that rumour about the digital version arriving with the Starter set in September is now, unfortunately, looking more likely.

    Re: 2012 releases

The old Haemonculi have been unavailable for a long time now (they were listed, but never for sale). Not surprised they've finally removed them from the list when we already have a new model for them. Beastmasters still show up on their direct links but are still missing from the main page. AFAIK they were already in fine cast (I've converted mine so I've no idea) too.

Shame about Drazhar not getting a new sculpt. While the old model was one of the best in the old DE range (not exactly saying much though), he really does look out of place in the new range.

Beastmasters were released as metal. They get switched this month.

Althought even in Peter Jackson's production diaries for The Hobbit, there is tonnes of stuff that is blurred out. So there is still definitely a level of secrecy from Warner/New Line. How much that effects secrecy for 40K is still uncertain, but it does seem that it is better or easier for GW to keep a tight lid on everything and not only LOTR/The Hobbit.

I just wish it was, but wishlisting isn't allowed in the rumour section, so I'm just saying: "Nope, no Eldar", unless you can give a credible source for that.

    CSM ---> DA ---> Tau ---> Eldar

This is what the rumours currently point to which means no Eldar codex for at least another 12 months.

I just hope they squeeze both CSM and DA in this year as it shortens my wait for Eldar.
WDL record with my Swooping Hawk themed Eldar list:-

D: 2 (I felt sorry for my opponents and started firing at my own units)
L: 1 (I played against myself using my undefeated footslogging Fire Warrior list and lost)
