However, to be fair, the actual codex may not really have much in it that differentiates them from generic marines. I lent mine to Warrior of Chaos so he could do some Dark Angels research (I think I've managed to 40k-taint him! Yay!) However, they've technically been in a separate codex all the way back to second (I still has all my stuffses!).

Not that this has anything to do with the rumors thread, and I don't know ANY birds at all . Well, I know one, but he won't return my contact attempts.

Well, there are rumors of plastic greater daemons, and given the size of the new griffon compared to the old one, we could possibly expect much larger greater daemons... Large oval base for 40K, large square base for fantasy?

    Personally I can't wait.
    Likewise.

    Yup. Heard the same.
Sounds like it might fit nicely along with some of the chaos stuff I have been painting too.

I thought the plastic greater daemons weren't due until Summer of next year. I think next month will see a slew of smaller daemons released as stated. Anything requiring a monster/oval base released in August would certainly be a surprise!

On what page is the latest summary? Is it too old? Where are we at for the rest of the year? I lost track after all the 40K rules discussions.

Based on whats been hinted at, I'm gonna say it's some type of Spawn-Monster (an educated guess says that it will have multiple in-game uses/army list entries, i.e. the Thundertusk/Stonehorn, and the Vampire flying chariot thing).

Clearly it's not a mammoth, a Demon (that wouldn't be fitting for WoC), not a Shaggoth (that wouldn't be "new"), not a Chaos Dragon (also not "new" even though they will get this as well, in the form of Engrim Van Horstman IMO)

Weren't there rumours of a winged Chaos monster about a month ago? Not quite a mechanical flier, not quite a dragon?

Is it possible that the new big Deamon would be like this purple flying monster ? Or the burning one behind Karl Franz ?

Whatever it is, I hope it is customizable with at least a couple of bits that are CLEARLY god-specific. The Soulgrinder blandness was, in my opinion, due to the lack of these bits.

I don't think there is one, at this point. AFAIK, it is shaking out like this:

July: some finecast (mostly DE, with some Necron SCs)
August: Chaos Marines; codex + kits
    September: Starter box
    October: Warriors of Chaos
    November: Hobbit.

Theoretically, there is some daemon stuff that can get slotted in somewhere (my guess would be september)
There has also been some talk of Dark Angels (codex, no less) getting stuck in somewhere, but I don't really know how likely that is (or who said it). The only real possibility is it is also in November alongside the Hobbit stuff. If it exists at all.

Anyone else care to share a more knowledgable view of the second half of the year?

Isn't there meant to be a 2nd Flyer wave before the end of the year as well?

Flier Wave would possibly make sense alongside the starter, as a later in the month release. Or in December.

Daemon wave could share with WoC, or maybe Hobbit. Or take up a spot that the flier wave isn't.

the plus to the daemon wave is it covers both systems, so Fantasy does not get totally overwhelmed at the end of the year.

    What about Dark Angels?

In another thread someone was told to hold fast on making a tournament list for Deathwing as the Dark Angel codex would be out before then, stating a possible July-September release date.

I hope Dark Angels are soon

Local GW store called the US Home Office, perhaps that was the source of the email?

For what it's worth, I was chatting with an employee at one of the battle bunkers and they seemed pretty sure that November would not be The Hobbit and we might see Dark Angels then.

I'm not putting a ton of stock in it considering I'm half a world away from HQ but thought I'd mention it.

It is not theoretical ... there is some actual Damon stuff coming.
That was me with the Darl Angels codex .... but all I have said so far is that it is coming and that it is the next codex after Chaos Space marines.
