I had heard something similar as well. To the effect that we may see back to back 40K codices and/or seeing a Fantasy/40K month with a book for each. Considering this would be something I had never seen before I was skeptical.

Right now GW definitely seems to have backloaded a lot of stuff for the rest of 2012. It'll be interesting to see what gets released.

Given that it is on one of the special edition covers, I'm pretty sure we will see the extended version on the starter box in september.

I don't think there is one, at this point. AFAIK, it is shaking out like this:

July: some finecast (mostly DE, with some Necron SCs)
August: Chaos Marines; codex + kits
September: Starter box
October: Warriors of Chaos
November: Hobbit.

Theoretically, there is some daemon stuff that can get slotted in somewhere (my guess would be september)
There has also been some talk of Dark Angels (codex, no less) getting stuck in somewhere, but I don't really know how likely that is (or who said it). The only real possibility is it is also in November alongside the Hobbit stuff. If it exists at all.

Anyone else care to share a more knowledgable view of the second half of the year?

Wonder if the Hobbit could be a December release, the film isn't released until mid-December, so might be that GW will be forced to delay the game a bit depending on how strict Warners are. Though obviously LOTR came out in November but things could have changed.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes up the entire year of WD, measuring from the left side shoulder pad to the right side wing of the hilt, we're 1 issue over half way, which would complete it in December.

Seriously, it will likely be either the far right of the Azrael pic in the BRB, or it could be the 40K logo too. Doesn't really matter, but as it comes to a close it will likely be leading into the C: DA 6E release, like a year long countdown.

Also the mega armour nobz are no long on gw's website at all. Not even listed but not available like the deathwing models

Deathwing are ++way++ overdue for a rework (22 years! iirc ) but they will be in the starter obviously, so until there is a Deathwing multipart kit the starter box can tide us over! I know I'll be converting mine with spare bitz hehe...

Will they return the Meganobs with twin-linked shootas when they do the finecast versions, or are we still going to be stuck with the kombi-weapons--that's the real question as far as I'm concerned.

Saying 'I hope a metal model doesn't become Finecast' is like saying 'I hope the sun doesn't rise tomorrow.' Short of turning into a plastic kit - which is usually a bigger deal - metal models will slowly turn to Finecast.
