Space Marine Legion vs Space Marine Legion ??? Oh! I really don't like you. GRRRR.

Simple enough question I suppose, But asking anyway.

Which Legion particularly hates what other legion?

I'm thinking:

Thousand Sons probably have a particular disliking for Space Wolves, while Dark Angels probably see their issues with the Space Wolves as more of a friendly Brotherly rivalry.

I assume also that the Iron Hands are probably not big fans of the Emperor's Children. I believe Ferrus Manus thought Fulgrim was a bit of a pain in the neck.

What other rivalries are there and am I correct about the ones above?

Also, why do they hate/dislike/compete against each other?

Please note; This is the background forum, so I am looking for background info. Don't just say, Legion 1 hates Legion 2. Tell me why they hate each other. What happened that made this rivalry more than just, "You turned on the Emperor, your a traitor".

I think it's important to understand that there seems to have been a difference between which legions had issue with one another compared to which primarchs had issues with one another.

For instance, we know Perturabo had a hatred of Dorn, but not if the Iron Warriors specifically hated the Imperial Fists.

Though there is some overlap. Word Bearers and Ultramarines for instance.

Yes, I'm not looking for Primarch rivalry, as that's been done to death, But more Legion vs Legion. Although I would also be interested in Chapter rivalry too. Chapters are still kinda/sorta part of a Legion.

Thank you, I will. I assume it's a Horus Heresy book? I stopped reading after Tales of Heresy, as I found some of the books to be very hard work to get through. I really need to get back into them.

(Maybe) that also, since you can never be sure with the Alpha Legion. Plus Alpharius did not differ as dramatically as other Primarchs from the rest of his legion (some of the Alpha Legionnaires looked like their Primarch, plus every one was "named" Alpharius).

And interestingly enough, the Word Bearers were pretty much handed their heads for most of those encounters, at least, until Legion XX came in to play. The Ultras REALLY have a hard time dealing with Spartacus, I mean Alpharius.

During a battle against Chaos. The Flesh Tearers where killing civilians that they believed to be tainted. The Space Wolves did not agree and attacked the Flesh Tearers. Several hundred died on both sides. Which would be a huge blow to a smaller Chapter like the Flesh Tearers. So not easily forgiven.

I wounder how many Space Wolf Companies were present for this then,to be several hundred casualties on each side?

There were three Chapters deployed so it was a somewhat major event. But for numbers, it could have been as little as two Great Companies. It all depends on where you place the numbers for Space Wolves Great Companies.

You know I always thought the Nightlords and Blood angels had a hatred for each other......... I can't find anything to back that up.
