    WH40K in Stockholm Sweden

    Hi

First of all, I'm not looking for a shop to play in etc but I am offering a shop to play in

And I'm also looking to play with a select few more or less. So... here's the pitch:

I got a shop (tattoo studio) in Hökarängen, Stockholm and I have terrain and a gaming table and the space to play as well. Currently building a full city of death board to add to the one I already have. So the plan is to convert the shop into a gaming area on sundays and maybe saturdays as well.

I'm 34 years old and have a 1,5 year old son, and a fulltime job so looking for people my own age(ish) that wants to play sometimes, and preferably with fully painted armies and mostly for fun/fluff/winning in that order.

Well, if interested , let me know

I think I could try it out. I live in Stockholm main area. I have gone to Dragon's Lair and played in the past.

I am going to assume it's gonna cost to play there?

Not costing a thing. More looking for likeminded ppl who like to play every once in a while and are not interested in playing at for example dragon's lair. Played there a couple of times, sometimes you meet real nice ppl and some times complete idiots. I just want to sort out the idiots and get together a nice group to play with

Okey I haven't encountered any of the 'idiots' yet but then again I haven't played there for a while either. But count me in as interested.
    The armies I use are:
Chaos Space Marines (Barely play them these days)
    Chaos Daemons (Same as above)
Imperial Guards (The army is still too small yet to play)
Necrons (An growing army but barely have the time to paint them, I let others paint them for me.)

To bad I live in umeå, sounds like a nice idea you got there. Im ~30, and playing at the standard places just doesn't appeal to me as much anymore. Getting old makes you value others things I suppose.

I'm not into WH40k these days (now it's mostly Fantasy and Epic) but I just had to comment as I also live in Hökarängen

Sounds like a great idea though, If it's okay I would love too see the cites of death table (I'm a big fan of City fights!)

    Great idea!
Had that problem here in Visby as well, the lack of the right kind of gamers in the age of 30+, with family life, full time job and just the right attitude.
Now we have a group of 8-10 gamers in ages around 30 and a place to have game-nights, it's great!

I hope you find the right kind of guys! I used to live in Hägersten, I would have joined you if I was doing so still.

Några få meningar svenska kanske inte skadar det kanske behövs lite engelska också så att inte nån flyttar tråden till subforumet för icke engelska så att färre ser och uppmärksammar tråden.

So how's the store, can it be used for playing now?

Totgeboren: yep it does . Time is of the essence.

Delicous ron: Me too actually. Managed to buy a 3000 pts skaven army, assemble and paint half of it and still haven't played fantasy battles once. The city board will hopefully be finished til the end of summer. Men kom gärna förbi studion och kolla och ta en kaffe. Ligger på torget, bredvid apoteket.

Captain: exactly, you summed up what i want better than me . Sounds great !

    Dark primus:
I play eldar and dark eldar mainly. I have a chaos space marine army and at the moment busy with building a new death guard army. I also got a rather big imperial guard army that i don't play so that can be used as well if you want to play ig. Think it's around 2500 pts. The store can be played in if i just move the terrain and board i have at home to the shop so it's a car ride away from my house. Just one gaming table though.
Och hittade inte ens det svenska forumet längre... Raderat?

I believe that Sweden as uk also getting a stable player base over 30.
Too bad I'm in Norrköping. As my Eldar army would fit a city of death table good.

Maybe there is a lot of us adult serious hobbyists around in Sweden, who just starts crying inside (and sometimes for real) when we hear of an gaming club in our area, goes there, and finds 20 fjortisar with unpainted armies full of crazy proxies, osbtågar, emo-utstyrsel, energidryck på halvlitersburkar and wild discussions of if it was 2 or 3 models that where covered by the blastmarker. Almost killed my hope for finding anyone to play with nearby again.

There should be a facebook page for serious 30+ 40k gamers in sweden! Or is there one?

    Re: WH40K in Stockholm Sweden

I use to play at a quite decent gaming store in Lund with my traitor guard and word bearers. Unfortunately I'm one of those gamers who collects far faster than I can paint, about a quarter of my collection (about 35kpts total) is painted to basic table-top standard but not even close to the final standard I want. Most of the people at my store are significantly younger than me but serious gamers around 20yo. One exception beeing a dad around 45 with his two sons.
I also have my roots on THE island and quite a number of gamer friends in their 30s still there. Some of them got the gaming club at Fenix in Visby started.

As a 30+ father of 2 I find this extremly attractive. From Vällingby Stockholm myself and I do have 2-4 guys who are in the same general situation. We mainly play garagegames every other month or so and expanding the gamer network would be great.

In 40k Ive played BA since before they were cool =P (1993) and I also have a heap of tau and nids in a pile somewhere.
Also have Skaven and TK for WFB aswell as some Necromunda, Gorkamorka and BFG stuff.

Would love to drop by sometimes Johnmclane. Too bad I live in Gävle though... But I feel for you. Haven't played a proper Games Workshop-game in like 1-2 years. My poor Chaos Marines suffer the biggest brunt of it. I hope to get a game or two this summer with the new edition at least, and hope that I not too many of my models gets outdated with the new Codex. :P
