Thread: End of the Gav's Lion

Re: End of the Gav's Lion

There is that shared sense in Russ and Lion, that they don't care what people think of them, they just do what is necessary.
Russ even seems to play with people preconception of him as a brutal savage to throw people of guard.
I suspect that the Lion's dislike for Guilliman, is an intrinsic dislike for the Politician. People who do care more about what others think of them, instead of unquestionable Loyalty.

Would be interesting to see the play between these Lion and Russ on the rush to earth.

I didn't really like the death of Nemiel either, seemed out of character for the Lion to execute a member of his legion so coldly.

I also think the story would've been better if they delved into the whole Librarius vs Chaplains battle in more depth. How librarians are neccessary in the fight against chaos, but how chaplains are there to enforce the Emperors edict from Nikea. There was only a couple lines in The Lion that were used for this and I think it could've been deelved into more thoroughly, especially the whole loyalty to the primarch vs the emperor.

I also have a bit of a problem with the ending with the watcher in the dark. It's getting a little old that every primarch is getting a warning about there upcoming fates, when its completely unneccessary. Even Ferrus gets a warning now.

SPOOKY WARNINGS ALLOW FOR DRAMATIC FORESHADOWING.

I agree in that regard. But a point of contention is that Ferrus utterly ignored and disregarded his warning. There wasn't any hesitation other than 'This makes me angry'. Similar to Fulgrim, except Fulgrim was influenced by Slaanesh to ignore the warning. Ferrus was just that hard ****.
Reason not to hate Mat Ward #62: Mat Ward used the well designed spine of the Grey Knights Codex to 'Ward' off chavs who were harassing a group of nuns]
