I like the idea of Autarchs being used to customise army composition, hate it when SCS do that though. Give an Autarch a Banshee mask and Banshees become troops, give it Mandiblasters and Scorpions become troops, jetbike and Shining Spears become troops etc.
I don't like the idea that was mentiomed by someone else of the WS energy field being nerfed. They are already massively overpriced, point reduction or increase in power, not point reduction and nerf please.

Too true. Wave Serpents are excellent at protecting their contents but they also have drawbacks compared to the other common transports which current pricing policy doesn't seem to take into account i.e. lack of access and firing points. Not that I think we should get firing points but it would be nice if there was some evidence that GW actually priced these things.
It has always struck me as odd however that a skimmer transport only has a rear exit and no exit hatch on its underside. Probably because it wasn't a gameplay consideration when the modern Wave Serpent was created.
WDL record with my Swooping Hawk themed Eldar list:-
W: 2,836
D: 2 (I felt sorry for my opponents and started firing at my own units)
L: 1 (I played against myself using my undefeated footslogging Fire Warrior list and lost)
I do see a sort of precedent for updating Eldar tanks- Fire Prism got a plastic redo with a Night Spinner option. While it is not a hybrid kit, and thus needs replacing, They could do a Leman Russ to the Falcon- replace the current small turret sprue with a full sized tank sprue, with a much denser design, and add the Firestorm parts to it, as well as say vehicle upgrade parts. Also bring the turret style more in line with the Wave Serpent.
Compare the two sprues:
Falcon turret
Fire Prism turret

I echo the thanks for the rumors Stickmonkey.
Fall 2013 sounds like just they are just beginning their normal development cycle of circa 18 months for a codex (according to other rumormonger statements), with other push backs as business "needs" require. Since we are so early, then we would be idiots extreme if we didn't expect them to be altered before its launch, especially if 6th Edition comes out this summer, feedback reaches them, and they test the codex in its environment.
Still always good to hear new stuff!
Most of that is expected and not a surprise. That's the design paradigm they have found to be successful with the ADOS crowd. The Phoenix Lords NOT affecting FOC movement is interesting, and something I hope they keep for other codecies (and hearing from TDG's Choas rumors, may be).
Transports staying the same has me intrigued. Either they are going to be nastier, or 6th has some interesting surprises in store for us.
The Guides also sound interesting. It could make a Seer Council even more useful or more protected (Wraithlords are nasty enough to make one leery of attacking a nearby council), or bunching Wraithguard together for when their Guide goes down.
It will be interesting to see what makes the final cut, including the new stuff they thought up.

At least that is going by the fluff from Path of the Seer and Void Stalker.

The one thing I hope for more than any other? New warp spider sculpts! and a harlequin solitare.
I can see warlocks going to a Wolf Guard/Cryptek like character if the guides thing holds true.
What about new units? the Orbs of ..? and there was another in fluff.. or a new skimmer or more likely flier?
Just that they normally release one or two within a new codex, why would the Eldar be any different?

Scorps because when Eldar want to be sneaky they put on heavy armour.
A BABY - [QUOTE=Surgency]IMO, start them young... At 2 months, they make a GREAT giant for large games... They have stomp attacks, yell and bawl, and if you hold them up right, they'll jump up and down
The problem actually only lies in the game mechanics.
Originally, moreover, the WS was not based upon the Falcon chassis; and I'm not talking about the ooooold Space Marine/Titan Legions "Renegades" supplement design style, but the "Warhammer Epic 40.000" design, which was the basis for the Falcon. Still, when we finally got the Wave Serpent in 28mm scale, it was just a variation of the main tank. In se, conceptually, that was not even a problem: the WS field would probably prevent the existence of another ramp.
Nonetheless, tha Falcon tank was said to be an exceptionally good troop carrier, being fully enclosed, thus allowing for atmospheric high-velocity flight, while the troop compartment was equipped with monitors and screens giving a perfect visual of the outside conditions: so, soldiers embarked could disembark having a complete idea of the surroundings. In "real life", this would translate in the WS (or Falcon) slowing down just to permit a really fast disembarking (and Eldar being super-humanly fast and reactive, the disembarking speed would be faster than we could think), then moving immediately on.
But the TT rules don't show that in any form. We'll see if the transport will stay at about the actual cost tag: we are still many months ahead of the Codex release and we have yet to see what 6th edition will do to transports and skimmers, but I don't see the WS remaining almost the same.
A big thank you to Stickmonkey for sharing this early information, i fully understand that much can change or evolve but its nice to have some snippets to comment and discuss
its an interesting idea
i would much rather prefer if they mantained their current price or 1 pt higher with improved armour and basic weapon(s)
Sounds about right
I too share some concerns regarding the fact that the lack of acess points and firepoints isnt taken into consideration, i hope they dont nerf the wave field.
interesting, will it be an "upgrade to storm at the same cost but different choices" or "upgrade to Storm at x points for a better statline and more assault oriented weapon choices"?
i would love something like that
There are no perfect people in this world, just perfect intentions...
Just an educated guess, but I could see star engines being changed to just give the vehicle the "supersonic flight" rule rather than working how it does now. It would be a simpler mechanic, they could make supersonic flight a USR. And it would even make Eldar tanks more potent at ramming (or if that is not desired, they could put an addendum to supersonic flight prohibiting tank shock if you move over 24"). In a similar vein, I could see Eldar skimmers gaining access to the Aerial Assault rule either by default or via upgrade which would massively increase their potency. There is even potential for an increase in BS. So even if Wave Serpents ultimately cost about the same as they do now, they *could* include more bang for their buck.
Tanks are a bit expensive.
Guardians are good but their weapon way to expensive.
More psychic power feel with wraithsight feels good.
Aspects as troops seems really good. IMHO though I belive that GW will step into the line of other codexiuouses and let the phoenix lords (ICs) give aspects troop FOC.
Great news! The focus on wraithbone constructs mechanics maybe mean we'll finally get those plastic wraithguards!
Cheaper guardians is also good news, all the more if we can now get aspect warriors as troops. However, I hope they'll get a range increase too.
Supersonic and Aerial Assault currently seem to be stopgap "flier" rules. They both are designed to allow for a flier to move faster than other fast skimmers and still shoot at higher speeds. Both could be removed from the game and be replaced with a more coherent Flier vehicle type with its own rules. But for eldar, you may be right, and they could use both of those rules. Quite a few vehicle upgrades could be redesigned.

Thanks for the rumors, Stickmonkey.
Most of these sound somewhat helpful. Like many, I'll put on my wishlist "something that makes Wave Serpents better for the same points" in the new rule set. It will be interesting to see if Fast Skimmers get a boost, or if (like Elias Harg, et all, suggest), perhaps with regard to, say, Star Engines.

New Falcon variants
Entirely new vehicle
New jetbikes and vyper jetbike models
New character sculpts, new special character(s) and new SC sculpts

Makes sense. Probably larger, on a 60mm base. Plastic?
New Falcon variants
Easy to do. Replace the ancient turret sprue with a new one like the fire Prism with the variants.
Entirely new vehicle
Flier at least, maybe something else? Larger Grav tank?
New jetbikes and vyper jetbike models
New Vyper? wonder if it will be a combo kit- vyper front hull with option for turret or Venom troop platform in the back? Or is the Venom changing from a vehicle to a bike unit, like the SM attack bike?
New character sculpts, new special character(s) and new SC sculpts
Always happens
New versions of Aspect warriors, similar to current models but 'more dynamic'
Plastic? Finecast? Seeing what they can do with Dark Eldar models, these ought to look good.

New special characters? I would be glad to see craftworlds-related new special characters: we currently have Eldrad for Ulthwe, Yriel for Iyanden and... and nothing else but the Phenix Lords. To my mind, it would be a good way to emphasize the unique aspect of each craftworld.
Concerning new falcon variants, maybe the d-canon could make sense. As a former Epic player, I always found it strange that Eldars never got the warp hunter tank....
