Thanks Mr Dude, I knew it was familiar. Hope this is a sign it is happening rather than purely recycled.

I totally meant to put that as a disclaimer. I'm not a Ward hater, I just happen to hate everything Ward's written! If he makes something I think is good I'll be the first to admit it.
I'm not sure, is that cheese thing good or bad? I don't eat dairy so I wouldn't know. XD
Chaos has a precedence for good psychic defence. And no psychic defence, and bad psychic defence. Basically GW hasn't ever made up their mind, in a bad way.
I saw someone mention their curiousity about the eldar racial gimmick. I'm willing to bet they already have it in the form of their psychic powers. They sort of work like Tyranids, but their psychic powers are more extensive, and they have no synapse... no, the Avatar doesn't count.
A melta to the face: if it's good enough for Huron, it's good enough for me.
Did you know I have a blog? Neither did I, but apparently it's here! I review codices, write unbalanced, childish homebrewed rules, and post articles of my painting, conversions, and writing.
One of the biggest problems with comparing current Eldar psykers to the likes of GK and BA psykers are the number of powers they can use at a time, as well as how powerful some of the powers seem to be. The Mastery Levels shown in the GK codex to me is what will be an important change in 6th Edition to help determine what psykers are "better" than others. A basic Eldar Farseer being Mastery Level 2, then being able to purchase Spirit Stones to become Mastery Level 3 would make quite a bit of difference to begin with. I'd then expect the Likes of a character like Eldard to be treated as basic Farseer with Spirit Stones, but his Staff adds an extra 1 or 2 levels to his Mastery Level.
A greater number of psychic powers per army (particularly for older Codexes that haven't been updated for a while) plus generic powers chosen from the core rulebook to chose from will allow for a lot more customisation of psyker characters in the game. Special Characters should not always have a higher Mastery Level than a generic psyker character either as having unique powers that no one else has would be a better option at keeping them different. However, some of the uber psykers such as Eldard, Ahriman and Mephiston who are meant to be ancient beings who have mastered their paths would still deserve being able to use a few more powers per turn though...
I'd expect the likes of Eldar Warlocks and Tzeentch Aspiring Sorceror's to be Mastery Level 1. This would mean Warlocks need to take psychic tests to use their abilities, but should give them access to more powers and their current abilities could be made stronger...
Everyone Dies. It's the final and only lasting Justice. There's no greater good than Justice; It is said correctly that law exists not for the Just but for the unjust, I bow to no one and I give service only for cause...
Yes, but I hate randomness. One of the great things about Warlocks now is the fact I can depend upon their powers at all times, with almost no chance of nullification. That's hugely powerful right there.

I agree Sildani.
Warlock are meant to be the combat psykers, where as the farseers the "tactical" ones with aid and support to other units.
Another reason why the Warlocks act as sergants to guardians and bodyguard to the farseers.... (would love for them to be a bit tougher =smashy)
So having more of a mastery over a simple destructive use of raw energy or simple deception makes sense for the warlocks and shows their true power over the likes of other psykers...

Scorps because when Eldar want to be sneaky they put on heavy armour.
A BABY - [QUOTE=Surgency]IMO, start them young... At 2 months, they make a GREAT giant for large games... They have stomp attacks, yell and bawl, and if you hold them up right, they'll jump up and down
This army dearly needs a new codex, as someone else mentioned the start up cost for this army is also quite high right now due to the metal // finecast heavy range. Love to see some more plastics in the near future.
Two things. I do think we will see the codex late this year and I do think there is still a good chance we will see Eldar in the 6th starter box. Lots of older second and third ed fluff linking the DA and Eldar. Anyway my 2c.

Multiple birdies have mentioned sightings of an Eldar flyer though. "In the warehouse", make of that what you will.
Hmm, the Ork and Necron Flyers were sighted in warehouses a few months ago and are scheduled for release next month. If the same timewindow applies to this one, we could possibly see it somewhere around August? Looking forward to the next BoW napkin sketch.
Any hint if it's an entirely new design, or like the upcoming Ork Bommer, is (close) to a FW design?

It seems that GW are continuing with the "Terrorgheist Scheme", i.e Releasing a large centrepiece model 6 months to a year before the actual Army Book/Codex drops. I like the plan, building up hype and tempting people to get a model which they'll then build an entire army around once the new book comes out and their wallets have refilled.
Edit: @KarlPedder: Maybe it's a dual Voidraven/CWE Flyer kit? I know people have speculated this before but I'm not sure whether it has been fully shot down yet.
That portion of the rumor was confirmed shot down at the release of the Razorwing.
While I do not believe the Eldar's current dex will be effected by random powers (at least not as the powers are now), if indeed that even does come to pass most 2nd ed vets could tell you it wouldn't be the end of the world. Back in 2nd there were 8 Eldar powers that Eldar could choose from (with draws if you didn't want some) and it meant you didn't know exactly how you were using your Farseer until the start of the game. Back then the Farseer was quite capable even without powers. While he had fewer powers to choose from than imperial psykers (who had, I think, three disciplines they could choos from) the powers he had tended towards being more potent.
If the Eldar dex was built around the random power mechanic, and that includes a substantial boost to Farseers in combat, I expect players wouldn't have a problem with it letting it redefine the role of the farseer in each battle.

If the Eldar flyer was seen in a warehouse, wouldn't that mean it was boxed? If so, wouldn't it have "Dark Eldar" or "Eldar" prominently displayed? Finally, since Saim-Hann are the current Eldar poster children, it ought to be fairly easy to distinguish between a picture of a red aircraft and a black one.
So if the birdy says "Eldar", I'm inclined to believe that's exactly what he/she meant. I will say that that confuses me a bit though, since the Fallen Kin need their Voidraven quite a lot.

Based on what. The last rumor I heard was that the codex revamp had just started, and it takes between 18 and 24 months from that point until release. If you got other informations, please share!
I don't think GW really decides on the content of the Starter box based on old fluff. I also share the sentiment, that GW has always put good guys against bad guys in their starters, and are unikely to change that now. Finally, if I am not mistaken, rumor-monger Hastings has already seen the content of the box, and said it was Dark Angels and Chaos. If you haveany contradictionary informations, again, please share.... and I do think there is still a good chance we will see Eldar in the 6th starter box. Now, normally any Eldar rumors would make me happy - except I refuse to buy into large flyers. Don't like playing against them, won't spend money on buying one myself. :-/
With confirmation of the flier releases next month I wouldn't be surprised at all if we get in on the act before the codex is released.
That said, some of the vague rumours we've heard seem to suggest that we won't be getting plastic versions of forgeworld releases which would mean that it wouldn't be a Nightwing or Phoenix. I do find it hard to believe that both of those won't be in the next dex.
WDL record with my Swooping Hawk themed Eldar list:-
W: 2,836
D: 2 (I felt sorry for my opponents and started firing at my own units)
L: 1 (I played against myself using my undefeated footslogging Fire Warrior list and lost)
On the other hand, getting something really new would be a nice surprise.
Since we can already get the nightwing, phoenix and vampire from FW, it wouldn't matter that much. And this new model could point in the direction of some original design (in terms of game mechanics) for 2013 Eldars...
