7th edition, a unit of Savage Orc Big 'uns who somehow managed to charge my block with Tyrant in the flank because of some stupid move by me. Couldn't continue to play that game.
Bretonnians ARE NOT a pure Knightly army.
Half the army choices consist out of Peasants and Damsels.
'Pride cometh before a choppa in the face'
... uh, never? Why would you? It's terrible sportsmanship.
Only possible reason for leaving a game early I could possibly contemplate is one side conceding early due to time constraints.

My last game actually. My armor heavy BA list (3 Baal, 3 LR, 3 Vindicators) vs another BA Armor list (4 AssBacks, 3 Baal, 2 Annhilator Predators, Vindicator, Mepheston). Dice just hated me that game. I lost a Land Raider first turn to an explodes, and it went downhill from there. I did some weapon destroyed and stun/shakens, maybe one or two razorbacks killed, but when my stuff got hit, they tended to simply explode. Lost 4 tanks turn 3 to explosions or wrecked. there was no point in continuing the game, so i just called it. Just one of those completely demoralizing games.

It is not terrible sportsmanship to admit that a game is lost. It is terrible sportsmanship to not accept when an opponent realized that he can't win anymore and doesn't enjoy the game, but keep the game going just to enjoy the own superiority. I accept early losses from opponents and think that even if a funny game is over faster than I expected, it still is a quite good victory AND I see no point in keep busting my opponent although he already gave in. That's no fun for him and neither for me.

I came within a whisker when I came back to 40k and figured my best bet was to go to a tournament but I've never actually quit a game.
It's really demoralising to lose 3 games in a row and be staring defeat in the face by turn 2 of the 4th. I brought a foot slogging SW list and just couldn't do anything right. He was using the necrons about 2 weeks before the new codex was out and I just couldn't get near him. They were playing fancy new missions that I had no experience with and it was basically hold table quarters. I had my one sealed up, I had a foot hold in 2 others but I knew he was going to deep strike his lord to contest one of my ones. Turn 3 he had 2 of them sewn up and was chipping away at the third. I didn't really see the point of playing another 2 turns but i didn't want to ruin this guys tournament, especially since both of us had lost the previous 3. I took my turns quickly and tried to be sporting and friendly to the guy. We chatted a bit about my list and what he would change and then he did exactly what was predicted and deep struck to ensure the win.
The next game, for last place, I whooped a guy really badly so that made up for it a bit but even thinking back to those games is painful in terms of pride. I just couldn't get going.
Doubt I'd quit a game unless i was out of time, I would probably offer to concede in a friendly game though. I think most tournaments punish you if you quit early, which seems a bit harsh.
I only quit one game.
I was getting crushed, luck wasn't coming to me (when it did, my opponent spouted some nonsense about getting a save from a banner that he wouldn't be getting and everyone around decided he was right when he wasn't...he won the 4+ roll and so saved a load of guys) and he was being absurdly lucky.
Also it was around 9pm and I had been called by my dad saying BAE had tried to contact me and inform me of an interview I had with them the following morning wanting a load of stuff that really....I would need a week to get hold of, not 8 hours.
So I left the game early, I was going to lose anyway....I don't care if this was the first time he ever came close to actually beating me, he cheated and was a douche about it all.
And I didn't get the position at BAE either.....
I normally don't like to quit, even if my opponent is winning and WANTS to end it early (I've won a few of those!).
I'm used to horrific luck, I spent the first year of 6th edition with a dark elf army that got slaughtered to the man every single game I still enjoyed that :P
There's a big difference between a mutual agreement to concede a game and "walking away" from a game, which I'm fairly certain every single person here could figure out.
Even with the former, in every single instance of games where I've been getting dominated utterly, I've still enjoyed the game and played it to the very last man/turn. Maybe it's part of being a Guard player and knowing that only in death does duty end... or maybe I just enjoy both ends of the game, but that's how I see it.

I wouldn't walk away from a game, but I'd certainly walk away from a player. If someone is behaving like an idiot, I don't see why I should continue to do something unenjoyable just to amuse them.
As Hendarion says, I've certainly ended a game "early" because the victory is inevitable on one side or another.
Never walked away but came close once in a 2+2 4000pt apoc me and my partner with balanced nid lists and my opponent with a reaver Titan with d weapons and melta cannon and a plasma blast gun super heavy and an abbadon deathstar chaos list, as soon as deployment came I new I'd lost 5 large D weapon blasts on first turn saw all my MC's dead and any chance of even getting close to hurting them gone, though played to the end and caused minor damage to the chaos force (damn landraiders and contemptors) but that was no fun at all.(got revenge the next week I took necrons got first turn scarabs for the win he he he).
I've never walked out in the middle of a game.
I've conceded a few times, but only when it was patently obvious the game was over with no chance whatsoever. That's like resigning in chess; it's a gesture of respect to the opponent that they don't need to finish you off.
I don't believe in ragequitting.

Over the years I've ended maybe 4 or 5 games either because my opponent was outright cheating (I see doing that as a waste of both our time) or being very unpleastent/rude. Every occassion I appologised for wasting their time packed up my minis and either started a game with someone else or left the venue. I once dropped out of a tournie mid-way because I was matched with one of the above people and simply refused to play against them. I didn't make a big deal out of it, I simply called over the T/O, explained the situation, appologised and left.
I have zero tollerance of cheating. Mistakes made durring a game aren't a problem but if someone cheats in a game against me I will never play with that person again.

I've never walked away except for time constraints.
Generally the only time I'd conside walking away to be ok is if it's mutual, and usually followed straight up by another game (preferably vs the same guy). I have never known something this extreme to happen to me though in many years of gaming.
When a game goes horribly against you (which I'm sure has happened to everyone at least once) I find it is usually due to funny situations that you can laugh at. As the odds get stacked against you, I also find it makes you a sharper player- much more careful with your resources. It is also always possible to come back- this obviously doesn't happen all the time, but if you really tighten your game and work hard you may be able to snatch a draw or even a win, and they tend to be the best games IMO. The final solution to keep going is to set your own goal- aim for the 'moral victory' when the actual game is a forgone conclusion. This can be a lot of fun if you let your opponent know your new target, and you now have the desperate struggle to kill that special character or hold that building. I'd never walk away from a game purely due to bad luck- it's a game with a lot of luck elements- be used to it.
Fortunately I have had very few games against terrible opponents- I could also understand walking away in these situations.

I have walked away from a game because my opponent was cheating
That's what I was about to say. I've never walked away from a game, but I did have a player say to me once "You know what? I'm done." I was very disappointed.
It wouldn't have bothered me nearly as much as if he'd offered me his hand on turn 3 and said "Good game."
I don't think I've ever walked away from a game. There's one I should have, though - Sisters of Battle (me) v. my then-roommate's Nurgle Chaos. Oh Lord, I couldn't roll higher than a 2 that entire game (as in a good 80% of my rolls were 1's and 2's). Craziest dice-based anomaly I've ever seen...I finished the game, but it was painful.
I managed to not brutally melt those dice, though they spent a long time in their box without being used after that.
I've never walked away from a game and doubt I will. I usually play with friends and i'm certainly not going to give in as soon as my favourite unit dies.
However I have no problem calling a game if i'm clearly going to lose. You can usually tell if a game is going to be a massacre early on and by turn 4 it is unlikely the loser will anything game changing left. I don't see how making him chase down my half killed squads and empty transports is fun for either of us.
