Necrons in bronze

Picked up Serez the other day and together with the last white dwarf that featured an alternate paint scheme it has inspired me to start work on some 'crons.

Here is the first peice pretty much finished bar maybey a few more wash layers on the silver metal.

I quite like it.
Looks very sombre and menacing.
I think it lacks some bright spot colors to really make it 'pop' though.

Thanks for the feedback, it seems that my camera has washed out the colours somewhat because I thought it might have needed darkening up some what!

What do you suggest I could do for spot colours, more edge highlights or just details picked out in an opposing brighter colour?

Well, I would personally go for a brighter, almost glowing green on the eye for example.
Kind of like the official paintjob, but with green instead of orange.
Some bright parts would give the model some focus points

Well here's a small update, if it seems a little familiar that's because I shamelessly stole the idea from bowlingshirtjerk (see quote).

Finally, heres a guy I'm working on right now, a Veil Cryptek.



He's a pretty basic model. One of the new Vampire Counts evil skeleton dude model, a Necron torso tucked into the cape, a Deathmark head and few random other bits. I like that he seems like a teleporting evil horror. (He still needs greenstuff)

Anyway this guy is a veil and shroud cryptec who will be jumping around with some gauss immortals.

Ironically that's what Iv'e done for the eye, dark angels base coat, snot green mid tone with a pure white highlight.
I think I may need to invest in a spot light for when taking photos

Anyway since I mentioned paint scheme I might as well say what iv'e done for the rest of my colours.

The blue is swooping hawk with an edge highlight of ice blue.

The iron is leadbeltcher with a devlan mud wash

Bronze is warplock with a gryphon sepia wash and a burnished gold edge highlight

Green energy source as mentioned above

Red energy emissions are scab red with blazing orange midtone and skull white highlight

Finally robes are dark angels green with snot green highlight and a thraka green wash.

Progress model wise so far-

-spyder awaiting undercoat

-1 wraith with whip coils awaiting base coat

-test model immortal with telsla mid painting.

Hopefully have the test model done and posted by tonight.

Right sorry for the delay, but Iv'e finally got an update.

My harbinger has had a green orb power source to his abyssal staff.

Next there is my first immortal armed with Tesla coil.

Finally I got my canoptek spyder done (bar scarab hive).

Also Iv'e been mucking around with a 2000pt list for if I ever get around to getting a game in, lol
