-Sergeant Lukas Ballas, 2nd Squad, 4th Company of the Moloch 51st-

-Reporting incident: 216b. Route to Sector 16, Patrol Team 514, Zone Omega-

-At approximately 2200 hours*(Private Trebor-2143298) fell to the floor screaming, holding his hands to his head, ripping off his headger, his screaming was deafening even through our own headgear. his eyes began to sink in to his head, rolling around like a spin top, after a few seconds he collapsed silently to the floor face first in to the sand. The field medic assigned to the patrol (Private Kelsor-2144267) knelt by "Trebor" to check his pulse, Kelsor shuddered like he'd been been hit by taser, then i saw the blood and parts of his chest implode from a close range shot. I ordered the whole squad to ground, we were out in the open in the middle of the sandstorm, not knowing where the shot had come from. I panicked and started to retreat back the way we came ordering the men to follow. Then it started, one bang after another, the squad, dropping like flies from close range high impact rounds that ripped through their flesh and recon armour with ease. Perfect shots each one a killing blow either to the head or chest. Then I felt a sudden pain to my right knee as I was sent flailing in to the sand. I had been hit, I looked around there was no one, I couldn't see anything the sandstorm had worsened. Seething in pain I set up my camograph and swept around, there was nothing. I crawled back the 8 miles back to Sub Station Omega where I am now, recovering from my wound. Why was I left alive? After checking the pictograms taken by the camograph with my superior officer, we think you should see this, we are not alone on this planet, another patrol left this morning to check for the team, hopefully they find something-

-Lieutenant Richard Hagman, Acting Commanding Officer of the 4th Company, Moloch 51st-

-Incident Report. Sector 15, Sub Station Omega-

-It was only two hours in to the patrol, when we lost vox communication with patrol team 515. Taking order 768 in to account the NCO at the time (Major Rourke) got together the planned assault platoon of 50 men and lead them to the last recorded coordinates of team 515. The platoon consisted of 30 infantry with standard equipment, 10 grenadiers armed with close quarters assault gear, as well as a 10 man heavy weapons team, carrying 3 Autocannons and entrenching equipment. When they arrived at the coordinates there was nothing but sand, and another one of those sandstorms. Rourke ordered the men to dig in and hold the area till further notice. Rourke kept frequently updating the status back here, mostly moaning and withering that he was stuck in the sandstorm, then his updates stopped for over ten minutes. Suddenly the vox came hissing back to life, it wasn't Rourke on the other side, "this is Private Briggs-2144765 we are under attack, we're surrounded, attacked from everywhere, Rourke's been hit, send support, over". It was too late when we arrived, there were corpses everywhere though all had the same feature, no heads. The area stank, oversize flies we're buzzing around from body to body, that's when we saw it. The sandstorm seemed to just clear, stood there at least 8 foot tall, a space marine, clad in a corroded armour it was hard to see what colour it was from all the damage and flies swarming round him, then he charged, firing his pistol with quite brilliant accuracy, one head at a time popping like a water balloon from the close range shots, then he was up close as he drew a combat blade and smashed it in to the next troopers face. He was only metres away when i took this pictograph-

    --------------image loading--------------

-I could smell death as his blade came rushing towards my head, I closed my eyes and grimaced, *all I heard was a bang, I felt nothing. Opening my eyes i saw a trail of smoke from the downed marine,*three gaping melta holes took him down just before he struck, lucky me? We gathered the dead and wounded and made our way back to Sub Station 15. I don't know if I should have but I brought it here for the research team to take a look, sir you should see it-

That's very nice indeed. The FW parts really work well together. These are much more Plague Marines then the FW body + GW plastic legs.
I pray for your wallet though

Sorry no fluff today, just a few WIP pictures for you.

DeathCat147: Glad you say that, there is a lot more to come. Btw what ever happened to your Nuln log, I was loving the pikemen!?

BasetheRuin: I really like them myself which Is good, and yes my wallet got smashed at first but I was able to sell off the unused bits and make a chunk of money back, though still need guns!

Right first up is a VERY pip of the first squad, I'm going for the pre heresy colours on these, what do you think?

Also got this guy, I am thinking about GS his left leg and right arm to match the armour pattern of the rest of the guys. What do you think? I have already ordered an extra back pack and shoulder pads as well to match the rest of the dudes, btw I love this model as standard but I wanted give it some extra love, it is my general!

That's it for today gonna get some painting done, all praise Pappa Nurgle!!!

    Re: The Death Guard........

For early PIP models, these marines already look very good! Some people might even call them close to finished. Very curious now these will turn out.
(ps. I'd leave the sorcerors leg as it is, but I'm afraid to cut into FW resin)

    ----------update----------

Right I have been a busy bee today completely finished the first five guys, though may go back to them in the future for finer details etc, what do you think? (the pictures are rather dark I will take some more in sunlight tomorrow, it's dark here in Melbourne already).

Here's a close up of the Plague Champion, I know power fists are expensive but hey it looks cool:

So what do you think so far, I know they have no weapons yet and the bases aren't done but that's where I need help, I had already made some bases but they just don't work so gonna make some new ones, dessert most likely so there will be weathering on the models, any input on this is very welcome?

BasetheRuin: They were early as that I'd only done the armour, but yeah I understated. I have done some work on the sorcerer today no cutting, just GS trims on the leg to match the MK3 armour.

    Thanks Andy

    Re: The Death Guard........

Very cool indeed! Maybe you can up the contrast between the 'white' of their armour and green trim just a little. That way you showcase that great pre heresy DG scheme even more. Other than that, a paint job full of rock hard quality!

    ----------------------UPDATE---------------------

Sorry no fluff for today though i am currently writing the next part should be ready for the weekend.
Thanks for the comments guys, great motivation!
Anyway firstly I said I'd get a better picture of the finished guys, and if you want any individual shots let me know:

Though still still need to think of a basing theme any ideas are welcome?

I also did a bit of work on my Sorcerer, I had a spare MK3 arm and this is what I did:

I'm not a fan of this shoulder pad either so this will change soon!

And images of the remaining 15 guys, all built, g/s and base coated ready for painting:

I still need to order the bolters and special weapons, but with rumours of a new codex soon, I'm not gonna buy any yet.

I pretty much have everything planned out for this army, even what I want next etc. but one thing that I usually have sorted from the start are the bases, I just don't know what to do to suit the army, any ideas?

    Thanks Andy

-Lieutenant Richard Hagman, Acting Commanding Officer of the 4th Company, Moloch 51st-

-Incident Report. Sector 15, Sub Station Omega-

-I knew we shouldn't have brought it back, I was just overseeing a new patrol for the new routes set between sector 15/16 when we heard lasfire. Gathering my squad we headed to the outbreak, the sound of lasfire increased as we neared the labs, that wasn't the only sound now, we heard screams from men, grenades were beginning to go off wreaking havoc and panic throughout the outpost. Arriving at the labs building, we smelt it first, the smell of death and there it was the "marine" that we picked up dead, flys were hovering around him the size of tennis balls, as he smashed his fist through a scientists face. Then turned and headed for the next guardsmen, the private loosed off the rest of his charge from his lasgun in to the marine, with no effect but some slightly charred flesh and armour. He bundled in to the private tearing his head from his body in one swoop, he turned to face us. I had been in this position before, bearing down on us, this time I had the upper hand, the rattle of the heavy bolter shells met with the marines torso with superb accuracy, each shell imploding on impact taking chunks of flesh and armour from the marine, then*the shells met with the marines head, it flew backwards as his head popped open like a water balloon, gore was sprayed everywhere, then the shooting stopped. We should have incinerated the remains of the marine but no, the scientists insisted we keep it for examination, but this time with no head there was no way it was getting up-

    -------------------UPDATE------------------

As for the bases I think I have cracked it I am thinking about one of these two:
    http://www.secretweaponminiatures.co...roducts_id=241

    http://www.secretweaponminiatures.co...roducts_id=117

Horacus: Yeah I made some some bases and they were too clean, gonna go down the path of mud, dirt slime etc. see above.

As for the hobby, made a start on the next five death guard and have also changed the shoulder pads on the sorcerer, though I am still waiting for his backpack before I post some pics, though really looking forward to painting this guy!

Next on the purchase list is some Deimos Pattern Rhinos 3 in all, then tempted to get some dreadnoughts, hmmmmmn contemptor or death guard ones?!?!

    Thanks Andy

    Re: The Death Guard........

    ----------------UPDATE---------------

Well just a minor one, I have finally finished my sorcerer and just wanted to show him off, plus a little fluff:

The bitter and twisted Chaos Space Marine Sorcerer known as Korpus Festerheart, Disciple of Nurgle is an relatively new foe of the Imperium of Man. He is a sworn servant of Nurgle, the Chaos God of pestilence, despair and decay. Korpus an ex Apothecary of the Death Guard Legion during the time of the Heresy is now the master of a small detachment of Death Guard deployed to the world Moloch, under order from his own master, Typhus.

Also here's what I have decided for the bases, they look great once they are "decorated".
