I'm just a little bit curious.... to the following ...

    Re: Hiii All

I would say 150 models in a bretonian army is big, but 150 wouldn't be anything special in a goblin army.

    Pointswise, 4500+ is rather large.

I find it rather odd that after not hearing of the teutogen guard for seveal years that in the span of one day Ive seen ebay knock offs of them and had them mentioned on sveral boards and the guy claiming to have them types in the kind of broken english one would expect of someone that is using a translation program.

    Duke
What you mean... With knock offs.... ??

I have made a tread in here several months back... about them and i bought approx 150 tg models during the last year often in blisters and original packing ...I also have 2 x codex Storm of Chaos *S* I love the theme they represents...

ON E bay you have to remember that not all people are experts in the english language.. *S*

On ebay there are a lot of the knock off being sold, its easy to tell when a model sold only in pewter is being sold as lead or plastic.

I don't know how many O&G models I actually got, but they add up to around 12-14k points, depending on magic items and other upgrades. I'd call it relatively big, but not huge or gigantic because many other O&G players have alot more points.

My Ogre Kingdoms army is around 5000 points strong, which I'd also describe as relatively big, because many other Ogre players have comparable amounts of points at their disposal.

WoC are only 4000 points strong, I'd describe them as large Warband, but they pale compared to other Chaos armies running in the 20k+ area...

Usually when I see such a listing on ebay I end up thinking: "That's not a huge army, that's barely a vanguard."

As far as I am concerned, big armies start at around 5000 points.

I wondered about that, too, but was afraid to ask. Mainly because I wouldn't want that question turned back on me.

Re: What do you define as a big or gigantic army?

I think that they can be fielded in 1 army .....all of the orc and gobbos ... 75% painted............. Don't know the actually point value...

High elf has to be devided into 3-4 smaller armies due to the new rules...

Empire army i think can be fielded in 1 army

lizard men can be fielded in 1 army

It depends on the army really. A 5k points ogre army is big, but a 5k points goblin army is gigantic.

I can only shudder to think how many points that would work out to using the 3rd Ed Realms of Chaos books - eg GUO's costing a minimum of 1100pts (of course you'd probably need to split them into 2 seperate armies - Khorne/Nurgle & Tzeentch/Slaneesh). Even split I have no doubts each would easily far outstrip 30k points.
Trying to convince Warseer that GW are anything less than perfect is like trying to teach a horde of zombies that lettuce is a perfectly acceptable alternative to brains.

Re: What do you define as a big or gigantic army?

I'd go with large at 5k and gigantic at 10k. All my armies are mid range between large and gigantic. I have never really gone all out on one army as I usually sell older models.
