    Bonus on a re-roll?

When you start the game, the guy who deploys first usually gets a +1 bonus on the "I want to begin roll", now what happends if your opponent rolls higher then you, but your bonus makes it a draw? Do you still get the bonus when you re-roll, or will the re-roll be without a bonus?

Also: What is the percentage change of winning a roll-of when you have a +1 bonus?

    No + on the roll-off. A roll-off isn't a reroll of the original roll.

    +1 is around a 17% favorite.

If you draw with the +1 the first time it goes too a straight roll off, highest roll wins. No adding anything to either dice.
There is no truth, only human opinion.

Iraf and cilent civilian are wrong.

    P.7 BRB.

    "ROLL-OFF
If the rules require players to roll-off, this simply means that each player rolls a dice and the player that scores the highest result wins the roll-off. If the players roll the same result, both dice must be re-rolled again until one player is the winner — any modifiers that applied to the first dice roll are also applied to any further rolls."

Well, I think 8th is the first edition to actually define "roll-off" like this (when they define re-rolls, scatter, multiple dice etc.).

It didn't "use" to be the other way, it was just that some people interpreted it like that, that the second and subsequent roll no longer being teh roll you got the bonus for (this +1, or things like in 40K the Venerable Dreadnought allowing you to re-roll your own dice to go first, I don't remember if tehre have been any equivalent ability for something in Warhammer), although the consensus on forums whenever it came up has been that you got the bonus even if it went to a re-roll. Never saw anyone actually sticking to the no-bonus interpretation though.

    Change?

You have a 74% chance of winning the roll-off.

With 1d6 vs. 1d6+1 there are 36 different combinations of rolls.
5 of those combinations result in a re-roll, so effectively there are 31 deciding combinations.
23 deciding combinations result in the player with the advantage winning.
10 deciding combinations result in the player without the advantage winning.

    23/31 = 74%

Er... So the player without the advantage has a 10/31 chance of winning? That's 32%, I think you need to look at you maths again!
    23 wins, 5 draws and 10 wins - that's 38 results...

Well, I did the same thing without graph paper, so I guess I miscounted. The +1 yields 21 wins out of 31 deciding combinations: 68%.
