The book is based on the 3rd battle for blackfire pass, so there is definitely no Sigmar model. I had a good chat with Talima Fox about the story, An Orc Waaagh through Blackfire Pass, With a heavy involvement of Dwarves of course Averland Empire.

Marius Leitdorf is likely to feature though in the story as he's such a great character which Talima agreed also Averland is just a stone's throw away from The Moot, So you never know there could be some Halflings in there too.

She also said as The Empire have such a good range of models, WF are likely to concentrate on large models and new characters, as they did with Tamurkhan.
the whole design team seem to be quite excited about designing stuff for dwarves in particular.

Oh and when talking about the Greenskins she mentioned Night Gobbos, forest Gobbos and of course Orcs

Nothing concrete yet. First previews on GD UK, with a release propably around the end of the year.

I'm usualy not a ranter, but this just reminds me of Battle for Skull Pass. Gobbos and Dwarfs... not a fan. Orcs might be fun though and perhaps they bring in some goodies for Empire. I probably got a bad feeling because even though I have no interest in the factions, the book is still going to be awesome and I'll buy it anyways....

Looking again at the picture... There is a number printed on the side of the book, is it 11 or II (Roman style 2)? I would like to think it's 11, but that would seem unlikely as Monstrour Arcanum was only number 1...

I also mentioned my findings on the book in the open day thread - will add here.

So I had a good look at the Black Fire Pass mock up (as it was, not much yet).

There was (mixed in with the WH online art) some brand new are including some empire knights, a jade wizard, some big orcs, a sea troll and... a Dwarf airship.

Spoke to the scuplters and airship is definately on the cards.

Keith mentioned that each sculpter is working on a different race - one for dwarfs, one for empire, one for orcs - to give consistency.

Exciting times!

I also forgot to mention the guys were talking about a Christmas release - as Darnok said, previews at UK GD.

Jup, should be a Roman 2. I kinda remember that on the first version of Monstrous Arcanum there was also a Warhammer Legends subtitle, though on the final version there isn't. But given FW saying MA is the first book of a series, number 2 for BoBFP makes sense, no?

I think BoBFP is the 2nd book in a series called Warhammer Legends which is a series of campaign books with a narrative, the first of which was Tamurkhan. Monstrous Arcana is the first in their other series of books which are more like bestiaries without the strong narrative element.
