I played a game with this list a few days ago and won. I played against another Blood Angels player in the group, who is more experienced with the codex and his list than me. It was the first 40k game I won in months, so I was pretty happy. It was the first time I used the Codex and this list.40K Army: Space Marines

I had Dante with one squad in one of the Ravens, and in the other I had a priest with the other Sanguinary guard. The other priests was with one of the assault squads, both of which deep striked.
With Dante, I forgot his death mask rule. I had him in the raven most of the time to act as a trouble shooter unit, to reinforce the line wherever it got overwhelmed. He did little with his squad, aside frm blowing up a drop pod. Normally I move around aggressively in games, but I was cautious with Dante as an enemy assault squad with Reclusiarch was nearby, so I was afraid to put him too near this unit in case he and his squad got wiped out.
I was much more aggressive with the other units, which ultimately paid off, but I thought more about how my opponent would react to my movements than other games as we both had mobility and small numbers. I don’t think this list would work as well against a Grey Knight or Imperial Guard army, however. On the flip side, I know where to modify the list.
I am not sure about Dante, he is quite expensive. Though 4 scoring units and the Sang. Guard are nice, I am wondering what else I can fit into the list instead. If I were to keep the San guard, I would drop the special pistols, maybe…
I am happy with the Storm raven weapon load outs. As for the Assault Squads, I am changing the pistols for melta guns, I need the range, and they are cheaper. With the Sanguinary Priests, I am dropping the power weapons. Their buffs on the unit were great, but the power weapons proved slightly inconsequential. I may add another one on foot and keep him in a raven to give a 6 inch bubble for his special rules.
For the astute out their, I went 15 points over, but so did my opponent, so its kosher. I will post my second draft in a bit.
Thanks for reading!
