Hi Sigur,All in all I learned a lot in this game again and I’m very much looking forward to the next one. Maybe I’ll make it a skirmish between regular and irregular forces because that’s an aspect to the game which I’m interested in a LOT. Let me know in the comments section what you think or what you would like to see!
Thanks for reading and see you soon,
- Sigur
let me begin with saying thanks for the nice report. I really like your tiny Epic Miniatures and your combo with using them playing Tomorrow's War.
Here are two thoughts about your battle report: "Smoke Dischargers" (all SM tanks have them and TW provides the rules) and "Life Saver" for SM vehicles (to resemble the Power Armor of the crew).
I think you already have a pretty good grasp of the rules. Looking forward to see more of those reports!![]()
Hey, glad you enjoyed the battle report. Thanks for the pointers on how I could 40k-ify the scenario whilst making it a bit easier for the Space Marines. At this point I'm really just playing the scenarios straight from the book but I think I should give that one another try with the suggestions you made, plus taking the "obsolete" rule off the Land Raiders so their armour plating actually works a few times against that beast of an energy weapon.![]()
If you go with Tech Levels the Imperiums' State of the Art Land Raider tank really shouldn't be "obsolete". By giving the Eldar the technological edge with TL3 compared to TL2 (maybe even 1) it should work fine.
Eh, one could argue that the Eldar are a few thousand years "ahead" of the Imperium and that Imperial "State of the art" has been in decline since the Dark Age of Technology and all of that. But really, discussions about how the 40k background transcends into numbers on a wargames table never go that well. I recently found an interview with Jervis Johnson in which he talks about his views on that very thing and how rules designers at GW never really give a hoot about such things but instead are only reminded to stick to the vibe of the background. As long as the approximate relation of power (at least how I interpret it) is kind of represented on the table I'm fine with it.
