Burzum - Channeling the Power of Souls into a New God

This atmospheric ambient piece is absolutely perfect for Eldar. I think that the theme and mood really captures the Eldar's relationship with the warp and the power of their souls to create Gods.
WDL record with my Swooping Hawk themed Eldar list:-

    W: 2,836
D: 2 (I felt sorry for my opponents and started firing at my own units)
L: 1 (I played against myself using my undefeated footslogging Fire Warrior list and lost)

With my Imperial Guard, there is always one song playing in my head: Price of a mile - Sabaton. This song just catches the massive infantry charges, pounding of artillery and trench warfare amazingly.

Space Marine - Steel Templars I like to use a combo of Strength and Honour with Reunion from Gladiator and Crusaders from Kingdom of Heaven. You need a slight pause between Reunion and Crusaders but it works ok.

Imperial Guard(ish) - I get a lot stuck. The issue I have is that I know soldiers, sailors and marines and I know that they sing all the songs in Generation Kill as well as Rod Stewart, Johnny Cash and the occasional Dire Straights not to mention the Top Gun soundtrack and Dolly Parton! So I can't nail down just one theme, though if I had to pick it would be The Crossing from Enemy at the Gate.

For the guard, I think many songs from Sabaton do well just in general. I think I pick personal favorite with the price of a mile. As they are based on the soviet forces in the soviet afghan war, I also think the anthem of the soviet union does well. I did just recently get to see them in concert as well, was a good show so I do recommend if you get the change to catch them live. The opened with Ghost Division.

As another said, its a good day to die from the Starship troopers 3, also classic. As for a guard, its always a good day to die, and they never need to know the reasons why.
Hard pressed on my right; my left is in retreat. My center is yielding. Impossible to maneuvre. Situation excellent. I am attacking. - General Ferdinand Foch to General Joseph Joffre during The Battle of the Marne, 1914.

    Re: Theme song!

i have on my phone an edited sound byte from "Im the scatman" and every time my vulture fires its punishers i play it. i recoreded myself saying "brass" very monotone, then dropped it into the song. so its "im the -brass-man"

its DEAD easy to do on audacity or cakewalk. plus it works your opponents ticket loads. especially when they have to take models off the board evey time they hear it
after several years on this forum I have come to the conclusion it is actually the most ridiculous place on the internet.

You are all doing it wrong:

Okay, tell me these aren't the perfect songs for these races ~

    Necron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LODkVkpaVQA
    Tyranid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozqfOzqMvlQ
    Tau: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJTBPdVpdMc

I agree with Tyranids (I laughed my ass off to nearly wetting myself, hearing this with tyranids in my mind) and tau (prefer smashmouths version... more upbeat and rushed.. every much like tau.. asking to be friends but killing you within seconds when you say no)

the Necrons suggestion are just... well not very good. sure they can get back up.. but they cant sing when they win or ever would.. and dont consume alcohol. so 99% of the song is ignored.

    Re: Theme song!

I don't usually associate songs with armies, but I think I will after reading this thread.
I have, however, noticed that listening to The Rape of Virtue, by the Deathstarts, gets me in quite the right mood for my Dark Eldar.

so 99% of the song is ignored.
Your definition of 99% is very strange.

i get knocked down but get up again. thats all there is to the link between necrons and that song.

so the majority, which i see as 99% of the song, not actually 99% but seems that way to me, is not about necrons or the theme they impose...

    so yeah...

    Type O Negative - Pyretta Blaze : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9HHT8NdlKw

That's the first song that comes to my mind when thinking about my SoB army.

I used to have necrons (with old fluff). I think that in reference to them this song was quite fitting:

Thorns - Funeral Marches to the Grave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvgUbiC5wDM

This one fits to them quite well too: Electric Wizard - Eko Eko Azarak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g17QtEIpWMY

I once wished to have a CSM army...apart from a few miniatures and a theme song nothing came out of it. The song itself is probably inspired by the Warhammer:

Arcturus - The Chaos Path: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j_mDsBTQnE (watch the video, observe what's happening on the scene, pure chaos !)

I have other armies (GK, IG, SM/SW) but haven't encountered suitable songs for them yet.

    Re: Theme song!

Oh i found a song that with some tweaking fits my fallen perfectly just take eagle - gamma ray and change all eagle to angel and all cry to call.
I was lost, had no reason
I was blind, saw no treason
I was devastated, couldn't take no more
    Man infuriated, raging thunderstorm

Where's it now, the golden future
Where's it gone, the dream come true
    All we are, eternal sinners
    Hiding in their darkened room

And I hear the call of an angel
Out in the heavens he will not obey
I hear the call of an angel
    Riding on wings of tomorrow
    that take me away

I was scared, for a lifetime
    I've been had, nuclear crime
Is this never ending, grand catastrophy
Here I am ascending, from this misery

Where's it gone, your golden future
Where's it now, your dream come true
    All I see, immortal sinners
    Rising fear, I'm leaving you

And I hear the call of an angel
Out in the heavens I will not obey
I'm riding the sky like an angel
Follow the sunrise on wings that will take me away

Faster, faster to the light, in this world too many fights
Devastation, termination, leave the world for recreation

Out in my dreamworld there's a better place to be
'cause all this world is full of lies
Breaking chains that hold me down I fly up to the sun
    Another place, another life

I'm riding the sky like an angel
Out in the heavens I will not obey
I'm riding the sky like an angel
Follow the sunrise on wings that will take me away
    Away...
