    Dust question

I can understand some of the alliances in the dust fluff, the USA/Uk/France makes sense as does Russia/China, but Germany and Japan ?

I mean my knowledge of WW2 is shaky but from my understanding the Japanese and the pacific front held no major interest to germany also the aryan concept doesn't seem to include them, it just confused me.

^^^^ What sigur said. Regardless, it's an alternate history with aliens, lazers and walkers 'n stuff. Anyone could potentially be allies with anyone else.

If Warfare takes off, it wouldn't suprise me to see the Japanese released as a seperate faction (or at least some japanese themed walkers)

Unfortunatly this makes me weep for my dotage. Sounds like this one could be easily duped into something similar to the past. Not a slam on you young Padwan OP, just a statement of teaching history in the current times. I am sorry they taught you less then you need.

Learn everything you can. It is quite interesting and no 40K writer could make up what really happened and made a better story. I would suggest reading the wiki that was linked by Sigur to begin with. Then look for the dead tree book, The Storm of War A new history of the second world war by Andrew Roberts. Published by Haper. It is a new book that did a very good job of describing the history of the War. I have read several general histories over my many years. This one is very readable, lays out the history quite well, and covers the entire conflict very well.

Again not a slam on you, read and learn all you can. Then these games that alter the history of the world will have more depth to them and allow youto see what ifs even better. May even push you into learning about more conflicts and widening and inriching your life,

While I did already know that Germany and Japan had something of a close relationship (then someone would expect for countires so far apart) , I thought that their motivations in their wars were suitably different enough to warrant a distinction.

IE : Hitler wanted a third reich and re-unification of Germany , end of the hold of the treaty of Versais and a ideological victory. Japan from what I know wanted more material wealth (and needed more land for this) and also had the hatred of a China and several other neighbouring asian nations with which it was more then happy to attack. There was also something similar to the 'superior being' idea for the Japnese that applied to other asians if I remember correctly.

Yes, you're right. But still, read the wiki. Look at the Tripartite Pact. It explains Japan's motives in establishing an alliance.

BTW. As far as gameplay is concerned, Dust Warfare looks completely amazing. I'm very excited to play it and I REALLY hope it takes off.

The rules motivated me to paint the models before I paint anything else (I have about 300 models for 7 different game systems sitting on my desk waiting to be painted).
