Orange Krush Orks (Orange Skinned Orks)

A little while ago, I painted an Ork Warboss with orange skin to see what the model would look like. Now I think I'm going to take the leap and start making the list. I think I am going to have a lot of Nobz in this army, just to make them look meaner and bigger. There is also going to be a heavy desert theme to this army, lots of sand blasted vehicles and armor.

    What do you think?

I think it looks great. There's a lot of depth and contrast in the skin, and the metallics don't overwhelm it. Very cool, I say do it

The squig seems orange, but the ork seems reddish? Maybe a profile picture in better lighting would showoff the effect you created?

Could use another vomit (or whats it called these days) brown highlight.

    Here are some better pictures:

There is no Vomit Brown on this model. The skin was based with Dark Flesh and then blended up all to way pure Blazing Orange. If I remember correctly there are about 6 layers in that skin. The idea for this ork army, was to have no blues or greens of an kind in the army. I think the second Warboss' Squig will be bright red or maybe purple, haven't decided. This Warboss' Squig is nicknamed "banana", by my 7 year old son.

I think he looks good (and I personally always enjoy seeing non-green orcs)!

While that first image did look a lot more reddish, I think the later better-lit image definitely shows him to be more of a red-orange or even kind of terra cotta color. Anyways I like it, especially for some desert orcs, and I think a whole army painted up that way would look great.
The great thing about the dwarves is that, even though there's this comic element, when they fight - they really fight!

2nd set of pictures are much better! I like it. Great colour. The metal looks rather bright though and too un-orky You need some rust and weathering!

Keep it up, they look wicked
