This looks like a very nice list and thankfully does not contain Chosen. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why people like them so much. I assume you keep the Hellcannons in close proximity to the BSB or do you leave them behind to get themselves into Rampage trouble? Have you played this list much and does it do well?

I'm assuming that's a joke; what's not to like about a unit that is Stubborn with 3+ ward, and strikes out with 3A @ S5 each?

As for the list, well played steve, looks good.

That's a lot of points for a knights unit. I'd split them into 2, or drop down to 5 and get something else, maybe a warshrine or some chosen
40k armies: GKs; Eldar; Deathguard, Demons

WHFB: Dwarves, Lizardmen, High Elves, VC, Demons, WoC

Favour of the Gods, Wailing Banner, Mark of Tzeentch, Halberds, double Warshrines; surprised to hear somebody that doesn't know this by now considering it is one of the most powerful, if the tiniest bit fickle, combos in Warhammer to date.

My main opponent plays skaven (13th spell) so I stay away from chosen. My knights are my workhorse unit in this list.

    Can't argue with that.

Brilliant list - Love the big Knight unit! Always try to fit one in that size myself, because they are epic. Despite what t'internet says about Cavalry these days.
The other great fact about them is that, given the love-in for Chosen, etc, nobody really expects WoC players to take a big unit of Knights anymore.

The only concern I have is taking the Flaming Banner on anything with all the Ward Saves against Flaming Attacks. You could be hit by a unit of Dragon Princes, for example, and be utterly screwed.
In my Anvil unit (at any point level), I prefer to take the Banner of Discipline or Rapturous Standard.
Given that your Lvl4 is only LD8 anyway then the former, especially, seems a wise investment. The latter is a bit Slaaneshi for my liking, even though it is an excellent item :-)
    Fantasy
    - Warriors of Tzeentch (5000pts) - High Elves of Saphery (4000pts) - Waaagh Snagla (1500pts) Forest Goblin Spiders -
    40, 000
    - Blood Angels Dante-Wing (2500pts) - Dark Angels Ravenwing (1500pts) -

    Re: 2500pts competitive tzeentch

If this list had a sprinkling of Marauders it would look very similar to my old WoC army list, which did decently well despite notoriously terrible luck (a grand total of 1 roll of S11/12 for Gateway in dozens of games with a L4 Sorc, for example).

One thing I might playtest a bit is Banner of Discipline on the anvil, Eternal Flame on the halberds, and Rage on the Knights. I'm sure a lot of it comes down to preference and your regular opponent but this tends to work for me (or, rather, it did until I stopped playing with my WoC due to getting sick of playing with my 2/3 painted models ).

I'd be worried about anyone using a Direct Damage spell on my Sorcerer Lord when he only has the Golden Eye and Armor to protect him. That's a huge point drop to lose to Death Magic or the TK's Light of Death casket.

    Re: 2500pts competitive tzeentch

As far as the Lord only having Golden Eye, I find death magic rather easy to avoid (hes got a 20" fly move for christ sake) and TK is such a good matchup for me that I am not worried about a bad situation with casket. I have never lost a game to them yet. Not a big fan of the flaming banner either, just worried about the time I have to face off against Throgg and 18 trolls.

The Knight banner is set in stone, as I have been flipping between the Rage banner and Blasted Standard for months, and although I do agree in most situations the Rage banner is superior ; when I face of against gunline armies my Knights become hands down my most important unit. This of course makes the Blasted standard a no-brainier choice. Rage banner seems like a good idea on the halberds because they can't parry anyway, they are semi disposable should I get into a bad pursuit/overun situation, and it makes them a great watchtower unit.

I like the idea of the Rapterous standard, as I only tend to gravitate toward the Discipline standard if the unit contains my General. Here is a slightly revised list:

    Lords
Sorcerer Lord, Level 4 MoT, Disc, Enchanted Shield, Golden Eye of Tzeentch, Infernal puppet, Bloodcurdling Roar, Third Eye of Tzeentch- 430pts

    Heroes
Exalted Hero, BSB, MoT, Talisman of Preservation, Charmed Shield- 195pts

    Core
23 Warriors, MoT, Shields, Banner, Musician, Rapterous Standard- 426pts <----- (BSB here)
18 Warriors, MoT, Shields, Halberds, Banner, Musician, Banner of Rage- 379pts
    5 Warhounds- 30pts
    5 Warhounds- 30pts
    5 Warhounds- 30pts

    Special
12 Knights, MoT, Musician, Blasted Standard- 570pts

    Rare
    Hellcannon- 205pts
