2 quick questions
1) can it score objectives (I read it as yes it can)
2) if you purchase 6 bikes, attack and land speeder. can the speeder deep strike/stay in reserve or not (I think the combat squads rule prevents it from deep striking/reserving)

As per the lastest FAQ , no it can't
DA FAQ(errata)They no longer count as scoring.Page 27 – Ravenwing Combat Squads, second paragraph
Change to “Much like Combat squads, the squadron’s
Attack Bike and Land Speeder are purchased together
with the squadron and then deployed at the same time
as the squadron’s bikes, but from then on, they always
operate as completely independent units of one model.”
2) The entire squad may be placed in reserve, the unit only splits when deployed.
So no you can't place part of the squad in reserve, it is all or nothing.
The Speeder( and the bikes) do not have the Deep Strike rule.
Also DA FAQQ: Can a Ravenwing attack squadron with a
Landspeeder in it, which has been held in reserve, use
the Outflank special rule? (p27)
A: No.

"Do you use the number on the bottom of the die to determine your rolls? Because the book doesn't discuss that the top is the correct side to read, either. Some things are just THAT obvious."
thanks
so looking at the answers i would say there is no good reason whatsoever to take a land speeder in a attack squadron
1) cant score
2) cant deep strike
3) prevents bikes from outflanking
4) cost a massive 100 points
did i miss anything.
thanks for the information
Nope, they are a generally a poor choice.

Sure there is:
Your FA is otherwise full.
You have the model and want to field it.
You need the mobile firepower.
Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

The word 'scoring' was removed by errata, it was scoring up to that point.

As it is deployed "at the same time" as rest of the unit, I believe it does not. You make one reserve roll for the whole unit, then parts that are outflanking come from their flanks and Speeder (and bikes that don't outflank) come from your board edge.3) prevents bikes from outflanking
5) has two similar weapons that can't be used together unless it moves at combat speed.
I thought I was elitist. Then my wife said she's willing to enter 40k, but she wants a Squat army.
GM:"You awake to a beautiful morning, the forest is peaceful as a zephyr whistles through the tree branches"
Bob:"A Whistling Zephyr? I waste it with my crossbow...ha I rolled a critical hit...28 points of damage, is it dead?"
GM:"What? of course not you *****, it just carries on whistling thru the trees"
Sara:"Guys relax a zephyr is just a breeze"
Bob:"Breeze my ass, it just took 28 hit points and it's still whistling at me!"
I stand corrected.

Next time, read the thread first. Seattle posted that FAQ in the first response to the OP............................................ Save yourself the need to stand corrected.
