Dark Eldar 2k Tournament List

40K Army: Dark Eldar

So if you were going to a very competitive tournament where you knew you might end up facing 2 Blessed Hull Land Raiders, GK Psyrifleman Dread spam, Scarab Farming or the Necron Air Force (2 Command Barges, 3 Doom Scythes, 6 Night Scythes, 2 Solar Pulses to mess up your first 2 turns of shooting) among other things what would you think of bringing this pretty straightforward venom spam dark eldar list...

As you say, its a very staightforward build, but very effective.

Naked Haemie's suck and are a waste. Drop Nightshields from Ravagers and give them a Liquifier and a Venom Blade each

Yes I really wish I had points to give them Liqifiers, they are just so good. But the Nightshields on my Ravagers, which for most armies are a top priority, is invaluable. Wait til you play that Necron Air Force list, most of the shooting besides the 2 Arrows & the Death Rays or whatever theyre called are 24" so if I go first I can kite his army to where he'll have to flat out right in my face, he'll get cover but I'll still get to shoot first. If I go second I can line my table edge with my ships & he still can't shoot me first turn, allowing me to do the same thing, however without Nightshields if I go second I have to reserve everything or get shot off the table before I even move.
As is I can't count on rolling a 6 for Combat Drugs (nor do I want to, 3-5 are the best ones). And those Wyches need FNP to survive their Haywire assaults on parking lot armies, otherwise an explosion or a single flamer can kill too many.
I guess what I'm really interested in & what this thread could address is the evolution of the most competitive type of Dark Eldar list (Darklight/Venom spam) in the current meta, sense we really are outperformed by Grey Knights and Necrons, and have always struggled with Imperial Guard and Space Wolves anyways. However that's probably better saved for the tactics section.....

I think Guard are the only real true tough matchup for us. Its not impossible, but the stars and dice gods have to align in order for us to succeed. Our/your list building skills and unit execution must be spot on. I've punished Wolves and GK plenty of times in the past - but it does come down to list building and opponents skills.

The first time I faced a Razorback/Psyfleman Dread spam list I got punished - I knew what I had to take out, but my list didn;t quite have it on the day. My friends don't field this type of build so it took me by surprise. I've now made some changes to compensate and can't wait to get it on at he next tournament.

If you don't want to loose the NS (and pretty fair statement there too) then drop a Wych from each squad - naked Haemie's are a free kp. Give him something so when he gets taken down, he'll bring some down with him.

id drop the night shields on the wyches and put aethersails on them. obviously they are gonna "leroy" in there so nightshields are a bit silly.

Actually I completely overlooked all of those nightshields - I'd drop them and field a unit of Reavers. Maybe 2x 3 man with Heat Lances

I ran the list as is & tied for first place, would have pulled ahead but my 3rd game I immobilized a Blessed Hull Land Raider on an objective I had to capture & could not destroy it for the extra points! Well, tying my buddy for 1st is a great outcome anyways! Thanks for your suggestions guys... and always take nightshields!

I take it you used the Haemi in each unit of witches. What armies did you face in your tournament? What changes would you make in your list after seeing how it performed?
