Hello! I'm slowly getting again into 40k. Long time ago, in the darkness of times, I used to play Tau in their 3rd ed. Codex. It was bad.
It was really bad. My group had 3 CSM players and one IG, and I had no idea about how to kill daemon princes nor those "3+ also FNP" little manz.

So, like three months ago, my actual gaming group decided to jump from fantasy (still playing 6th ed. Tested 8th but it was exhausting and friends get bored of fighting my skavens) to 40k. I sold most of the tau years ago, and I tried using some daemons, but it was awful. Then, one friend said about starting marines and we bought AoBR) and tested the orkz (with paperhammer). It was versus necrons and it was my first time having fun with 40k.

I'm used to painting hordes of rats, painting masses of boyz is not a problem. The problem is that i forgot them a month ago in my home and until next week I will not be there. I ebayed a bit and bought another 20 slugga boyz (15$) and a rhino (5$) and won 40$ in the lotto and bought a box of cans yesterday.

Blablabla. Here's the pics. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making them. Feel free to give me your conversion and painting tips. I dont know very well how I will end the rhino...

I started with it, with the rhino. Adding bits and bits, and bits. I will use it as a transport (think of a trukk since I only had one big shoota) with friends until I find some big gun. Need special help with the shoota. I pinned it so it can move (I dont like when weapon gets glued.) but it's so big that actually exceeds the front of the vehicle. I dont know if move it a bit back or what to do. Also thought about pinning one of the boyz with big shoota from AoBR.

It needs moar armour patchs, do something with the aileron, do something with the shoota, I need to find a boy for the big shoota, needs moar armour patchs, more orky bits. It needs to be more orky.

Also, started painting a kan. It's IronKan. I thought it would be bad, but now that I see it painted, love the orange-yellow scheme.


First of three. Only paint the basic and washed with Devlan Mud for testing. I'm pretty pleased with the result and will extend the scheme to the other 2. It needs highlights and painting cables and tiny bits. Actually what it needs is to be painted fully, with legs and these things.

I Thougth the box would have 3 skorchas but it doesn't so they will have a mix (skorcha, rokkit, and grotzooka)

I know the pics are bad, when I come back to home I will take another ones with the cam. I will try to update usually with more things. The 20 sluggas have now ther green base coat and will be the next when I finish the kans.

hey, i like your killa kanz paint scheme.

if you aren't happy about the big shoota on the rhino then it's a good idea to just pin a boy with a big shoota onto the hull, although al orks love oversized weapons by nature.

First of all, thanks for comment! And sorry for not replying until today, had some internet problems. I'm at home now and had a better camera.
Yes, I cut the gun and will add a boy with big shoota (have 3 monopose from AoBR). Also found an Empire mortar in the bitz box. I will put plasticard on it and see if it's "good" in the orky way.

Finished that kan. Most hateful thing ever made. I don't know why, but my orange became so ****** liquid it was very difficult to paint it. But meh, finished and I am happy with the result. I need to put something on the base and paint it. But I'm not sure what will be the best colour scheme for basing.

Also give a gray base to the rhino, and will stay untouched until I finish the exams.

Had a game yesterday vs. Necrons. The monolith is harder than I tought. I destroyed in the end with (I dont know how it is called in english) the psychic beam from the Weirdboy. Not so amused about lootedwagon, it only fired the boomgun once. Killed 4 lychguards then some heavy destructor made a hole on it.
I feared the lychguard for the PW and shield, but in the end the nobz killed the whole unit with cryptek and Overlord in combat. I have to paint the nobz...

Next to paint, nobs or kopters or slugga boyz, or more slugga boyz or grotz... and finish the looted wagon. I hope you like it and will post more pics when I paint some boyz.

Also, if you have some idea about how to make a boomgun with a mortar, a dread's laser cannon, some heavy weapon from a necron platform or a skaven old metal cannon, your help will be wellcome.

hey you had a ok game. Keep in mind, the looted wagon isn't supposed to be durable, its crewed by orkz and made from knocked out enemy vehicles. The fact that you managed to kill a monolith is what really impresses me, those things always slaughter and sustain whatever I throw at it. Also, i think the liquid orange gave the kill kans a more orky look then you would of normally.

I'm a extremely slow painter... Finished the final exams, I'm home now. I played some games this week, and painted some bits. I bought the citadel snow texture paint, not a 10, but it gets a 7.5.
Is enough for me, and as i decided that will base the boyz with snow, is some kind of cheap.

The games:
First game was 1500 points of orks with 1500 of necrons vs the überawesomeandfluffyalliance between Chaos and SoB. Because yes. Our troops were massacred by rounds of shooting, and in the last turn, one nob get in the truck, he captured one point and the last survivors of the "supakillaband" (7 grots) assaulted 6 plague marines trying to slow them in their way to the target. They killed them. All. On top of that, they consolidated into the other target, making it 1 for us and 1 for them (They make the third point neutral). They won us in points and that, but I was happy with my grots, my solitaire nob capturing the target and my warboss killing the daemon prince. The sisters were a pain, by the way, the poor necrons were smashed hardly.

The second game was 3-man play, all vs all. Capture 4 targets. (Necrons, SoB and Orks).
My awesome strategy was hiding like an eldar until both of them were seriously damaged. Then waaagh. End of the story, the kans walked over immortals, slashed the leader, cut an ark, more immortals, sisters... And the rest of the army captured the targets, sitting comfortly in their trucks.

(Both games in 5ed) Will test 6 next week.

In the painting side. Have I said how slow I am? This week I only had time for some bits. I put snow in the painted kan, and one snotling (they give me luck). Finished the first nob with klaw, and found the forgotten nob I painted years ago (It was a free one that come with a termie in the White Dwarf) and painted the WAAAAGH banner of one nob. (It's an old black ork with an Ogre Klaw and a banner).
I catched a imperial mortar and glued onto one of that bits that come protecting CDs. One of that white circles, you know. Will get some more, is a cheap way to get weapons onto it.
Also, painted one Rat Ogre.

And, I will forget it. Based the Warboss, snow and stone and one lucky snotling that counts as an attack squig.
(I love their faces when I say the little one give me one more attack at S10).
And will whip myself, I have in the painting qeue:
