Its a shame that they used a blue paint scheme, when all colour images i've seen, they're always red but that's probably a moot point. I was slightly surprised by the cost like everyone else, but then again the Orc Idol is £65 I haven't seen it person but from the photo's on FW that does seem 'huge' and after checking the rules do prefer the Orc Idol rules btu again I don't play OnG

How do you know the rules? There's no PDF to be found on the page?

Also, why does the description say Cyclopean even though this squig has more eyes than normal?

One of the definitions of "cyclopean" is something gigantic. Lovecraft was a big fan of the word to describe how impossibly vast the city structures of the ancients were.

"There they discovered a strange sunken city built with “cyclopean”, non-Euclidean architecture. It was an earthquake that had brought the top of the city to the surface, where Cthulhu and the Great Old Ones were entombed."

Love the idea of using it as an arachnarok. I happen to have an extra howdah, and I think a night goblin crew would be great.

As a fan of the squiggly beasts and all thing gnawy and two legged.

    I really dont like it...

As said before its just too flat and not round and squig like. Its a great idea but its just not , my cup of tea with the final model.

    Re: Colossal Squig

Ok, having gone through the rules again, the weirdest thing about this guy is he's called a 'COLOSSAL' squig, but he doesn't have the rule 'Colossal beast' which several other things in the book such as the toad dragon and Ka'ddai Destroyer DO have.

At this point, Urgat is correct that a mangler squig is actually more powerful (though lacking in other respects, stat's wise).

An doesn't it have to say 'Thunderstomp' in a monster's rules for them to get to use that power? Cause ol Biggy Squiggy don't have it.

    I really dont like it.

It looks like it's in the final foot-ed stage just before going in to a complete free fall front roll. No wonder the guy is running, hes trying to get far enough back to get a good video of the fat thing rolling on its face.

Though I would consider one if allowed to use one as a count-as/unit filler for a Squig horde. Just to see the look on someones face when you plonk it down. Then line up just another 6 other squigs behind it.

Why are there so many massive squigs about now?

I don't like the model either and agree with others that it should be more round/ball like other squigs. It looks like someone took the WAR Squig and then put it in a vice and squashed it sideways. :/ Which is a same, because the concept art and pic of Colossal Squigs in Monstrous Arcana look good and like proper round squiggly squigs.

GW logic. When they finally accidentally find a concept that works they start to milk it. First they make a bigger version. Then a winged or monstrous infantry sized version. If it's still a hit they just try to make up a variant for every army whether it suits them or not.

Howdah monsters and large objects on a cart are doing the rounds nicely at the moment.

    Re: Colossal Squig

Every night goblin player has wanted a giant squig at one point or another, blaming GW or FW for finally releasing one makes no sense. Besides it wasn't far from being a great one, really. If only it hadn't be squished sideways... And I'm still partial to the 4th ed design, where they were basically tomatoes with an enormous rack of teeth and two legless, humongous feet (only in drawings though, unfortunately. There's never been a proper model of these). I'm not a fan of the 6th ed bipedal tyranid design.

I have a big unit of the old 4th edition ones. The only squigs worth having in my opinion. The 4th hoppers are amazing too.

So in recent weeks we've had FW, FW, nothing, FW, tennis balls on legs.

Can we have something for Warhammer Forge soon please?

To break the trend: I like it. I may get it, if only to model a NG shaman into its mouth.

I like the model and hope OnG players in my area pick some up, would love to play against it, i feel it would really put an epic feel to a game.
