    Leave a vehicle

I'm sorry, I am not at home right now and my smartphone doesn't support the search function.

Is it possible to disembark from a vehicle into a different level, e.g., from a Rhino to an upper level, as long as the final position is not more then 2" away from an acces point? If no, why not, and where can I find it?

    Thanks a lot.
We both read the rumour, day and night,
but you read black where I read white.

No, you can't, but you won't find any rule either way. Buildings are only very peripherally covered outside of Cities of Death/Planetstrike, but it's implied in the Disembarking and Ruins rules.

Cities of Death however is very explicit (being a sourcebook for rules on ruins and buildings essentially) and has a rule specifically stating that troops may only ever disembark at ground level (barring a strategem saying otherwise).

You must have three inches of movement to change levels, and you have two; that's the technical reason. On a side-note, the incredibly silly notion of measuring from the top of the access point to make it possible doesn't work for models that aren't disembarking (you can't measure from your head to get up a level) so I see no reason why it should work for models disembarking.

At home we measure from the bottom of the access point as we have alot of skimmers in our games. This leads to most being able to get to the first level and Stormravens and Valkrys being able to get to the 2nd/3rd level but not the first.
I'll think of something appropriate soon enough to put here.

Well in fact you measure from the base with large base skimmer as per the GW FAQ...

Dark Eldar don't have a transport with a large oval base. All their transports measure from the hull of the skimmer (open topped).

AFAIK, you can just as well measure from an old-fashioned flying stand.

Not according to the main rulebook - the base is considered only during assaults.

I rememeber this problem. It's not an easy one since both rules and intuition is ambiguous: You can measure from the top of the access point, and could conceivably disembark from the top hatch of a rhino or chimera, or the deck of a battlewagon. I like the idea.

Except, that the top hatch is not an access point, it's a fire point
