    Ishtar Kyoraku, Wraithseer of Iyanden.

My wraithseer arrived yesterday, and here is the progress so far:

ID:	140641 I'm not sure how to bend it back, I've heard about leaving it in boiling water but I am worried about making it worse as I have never had tried it before.
I'm planning on pining the arms and D-Cannon rather then gluing them, so they don't break off in the case and so that I can change weapons, so any advice on that would be welcome.

You don't really need boiling water, just reasonably hot. Leave it in for a minute or so, then pic it up and straighten it out with your fingers by gripping it between your thumb and forefinger gently stroking along the shaft. If you are lucky, just holding it vertically when the heat has softened it, it might straighten itself out. There should be no risk of making it worse unless you handle it really roughly when you pick it out of the hot water. Don't use force, just light preassure from your fingers. And don't try to bend it unless you have softened it in the hot water - it might snap. I recently straightened out two pulse lasers for a revenant titan - looked like bananas when they arrived, two minutes in hot water, some gentle preassure and they were straight as you could possibly wish for!

    Thanks, will try that out.

Don't forget to immerse the part in ice water after it's straight. This will set the part, I've had a couple resin bits show their "memory" by flexing back to their original shape because I hadn't done that.

Similar to above. I usually have two bowls ready, one filled with steaming hot water, the other with ice water. I let the distorted bit sit in the hot water for a minute or so, then bend it back into position, while holding it in the position I desire I then dip it into the cold bowl.

Depending on the size of the bit I'll sometimes carefully drill a hole along the length of it and fill it with a bit of straight wire (about the width of a paperclip width usually) to give it a solid core so it won't bend ever again.

    Best of luck.

Good call on the ice water. I have never had any issues with pieces flexing back, but that may be pure luck. I seem to remeber though, someone posting and clearly advicing AGAINST dipping the softened part in ice water, since he/she had experienced cracks appearing in said part.

Edit: Looking forward to see your progress on the Wraithseer!

The spear is now sorted, and everything is just the basecoat except the yellow which has had two and will probably need more
What do you think so far? I will put the crotch plate on after all the painting is finished.

    I really like the pose.

I'm also an Iyanden player and have been wanting to get a Wraithseer ever since they came out. Hopefully one isn't too far off for me...
