    Space Marine Heraldy

When reading the article on Lexicanum about Company heraldy, it says that squads have different colour trims on their shoulder pads. I know most of the Ultramarines have it this way, and there are pictures of how the Salamanders do this (their chapter marking in different colours). But does every chapter do this?
The Crimson Fists for example? Do they have any 'company markings'? Or the Red Scorpions?

Some Chapters are going to do it differently. The shoulder pad trim is the standard, however, not the sole way. It seems the Codex dictates that there should be markings, however, there doesn't seem to be a fixed, mandatory way to do it. Books like Insignum Astartes has even suggest that the Ultramarines themselves are pretty flexible and allow variations in the heraldry (even though the shoulder pad rim seems to be pretty standard for them).

Lexicanum has pictures of the heraldry for the Salamanders. It's a variation in the color of their left shoulder salamander head icon. Red Scorpions seems to be a Roman numeral on the left knee pad. Can't really tell with the Crimson Fists. Fluff seems to suggest they're a heavily Codex adherent chapter, but there seems to be no company iconography or coloration that I can find.

No, hence. I'm thinking of painting my marines as Crismon Fists, but I want them to be 'right'.

Also red something about either one or both of their hands and wrists being red, does anyone know how this works?

Crimson Fists probably don't use company-colours, as they're well-below strength following the Rynn's World Incident, and that's a generally accepted theory for them being all dark blue. The red fist is left-only for regular battle-brothers, whereas veterans have both coloured red, so it signifies veteran status.

    right, thx!!
Also, I remember that you could buy banner stickers for your sergeants and Captains.
I just don't remember wich ones they had. I know Blood angels had them for sure, but wich other chapters had them?

no, it were very old blisters, in the time when there wasn't a moulded plastic banner on the sergeant backpack. (just the banner poles).
you could buy decals and sticker banners for the sergeants then.

You also have the option of helmet colours and stripes to denote not just ranks but potentially squad and company. Indeed the British Army uses belts to distinguish between Regiments so there is a chance you could follow a similar route if you wanted. As for banners, can't help I'm afraid, I never used them myself.

This is where Isignium Astartes comes in handy.

P.59 shows that the Crimson Fists use no company heraldry on their armor and even states such.

The background color of the pad inset also changes color, based on the Company.

1st though 4th companies are black inset (White Symbols for 1st and 2nd, Orange for 3rd, Green for 4th)
5th and 6th are Orange Black symbol for 5th, Green for 6th)
7th (scout) is White ( Black Symbols)

Well, just because I didn't have the references correct doesn't make it any less true
I knew the information, but couldn't place it sourcewise...
