    Victrix Greeks! Finally....almost.

The Athenians go up from pre-order on the 24th for shipping at the beginning of June.

Interesting to see Victrix move into other periods. Although I do not collect Napoleonics (or Ancients, aside from an impulse purchase of WG's Celts) I have always thought their minis were very nice and the Greeks look no less impressive.

AFAIK the greens were displayed in Salute 2010, it should be possible to find some reports with pictures online with some searching. That said, the test production models on the Victrix website are a lot better indicator of the final product.

If I find a use for these it'll mess up the counter in my signature so badly...

If you are really fast you may get to "Minis bought:0-----Minis Painted 166" before they arrive.

That's not how that counter works, regrettably. Both numbers only go up.
So by the time they arrived it would look like "Minis bought: 417 ----- Minis Painted: 128".

Ooh very cool! I've been waiting so long for these I'd almost forgotten about them. I'll definitely be springing for a set of the Athenians, and probably a set of the mercenaries too. Yikes, that'll be ~150 hoplites when they're all ranked up next to my Immortal figures! Somebody better get cracking on plastic Persians some time soon to divert my attention from all these Greeks. I've seen the WGF set and they're OK, I was holding out for the Immortal set though. I guess at this point, if they even ever get made, they'll be reased by Warlord.
The great thing about the dwarves is that, even though there's this comic element, when they fight - they really fight!

Warlord do intend on releasing plastic Persians at some point. No idea when though.

The WGF set is just that: OK. The level of detail is perfectly fine but the models do not assemble well in my opinion. Neither the limbs nor the heads attach to the torso properly and some of the limbs in the set are malformed. You do get lots of nice extras though. I don;t even think that Warlord has posted greens yet, which means that they are still a ways off but Paul Sawyer himself confirmed that they are in the works.

My understanding is that Warlord has displayed plastic Persian infantry 3-ups in Salute 2012:

    Re: Victrix Greeks! Finally....almost.

While talking with Warlord Games US Rep at Adepticon, he stated that they plan to release most all of the Immortal Minis before they move on, that there are greens and various other things that had been sculpted and had never been shown before by Immortal. That said I don't have any interest in Persians whatsoever.

The Victrix Athenians however are very interesting, and I've been waiting a long time to see them to decide whether or not that I will build a greek army. A good Plastic kit is a rather heavy influence on whether I build an army or not.

Look at that- I was a week late with that statement . I get their newsletter and there was no mention of the plastic greens being introduced to the public, and they ae not in the news archive.
