You will have to fill in the Torpedo tubes if you take a Cruiser that doesn't have Torps to be completely tournement legal, but to be honest, there are not many 'official' tourneys for BFG. Personally, I've left them open as sometimes my ships differ in their class, for example my Dictator Class Cruisers (Torps/no Nova Cannon) can be converted into Mars Class Battlecruisers (No Torps/Nova Cannon) at will via small plugs in the top turret slots and the Nova Cannon/Prow Ram slot.

If you don't mind, wanna throw your list up and we can give you some pointers and such, based on your ships? I only ask as you don't have many posts mate !

You have to plug them if you go to a tourney? I figured I could just leave them be in case I wanted to use that ship for exterminatus or something.

I figured it wouldn't violate WYSIWYG because for all the cruisers you'd make from those sprues you either have a Nova cannon or torps. So if you've got a cannon the tubes are empty, and if you don't they're active.

    well i have a retribution,
8 cruisers (yet to be built)
    8 cobras,
    3 swords,
    6 firestorms

    i was thinking on 2 mars, 2 gothic, 2 dominator and 2
    dictators

thats 4 nova cannons and 4 with torps, 4 of which are carriers

as for a list...i dont know as yet, and as hoping to see what everyone had to say...thats why im putting off building them

Eh, what? Just leave the holes there for the torps even if you make a cruiser that doesn't take them. It's usually pretty obvious since the only IN full cruisers that don't have torps have NC.

I've never even considered filling in the Torpedo bays on my ships with NC. I have played at the Adepticon Tourny in Chicago, with no issues.

Yeah. 99% of tournaments don't care about filling in torpedo tubes as long as the nova cannon is clearly modeled on the ship.

Indeed I would only consider filling in the holes as a personal preference. As for your fleet you have some good choices there so I wouldnt worry about that so much. Try playing a few one off games where you select the scenario beforehand and then build your fleets. Doing so will give you a better handle on selecting your lists, by playing at a variety of different point levels and different scenarios will give you a good idea of how to use the different ships which in turn will make it easier to create fleet lists for campaings or tournaments. Of course if you want any advice Im sure theres plenty of people on here to help you out .

No, no one's asking anyone to fill in torpedo holes. You're supposed to leave the underside of the prow empty for no upgrades, nova cannon if you take it, or spikey thing if you buy the power ram; the power ram is also widely accepted as just filler, ie no need to purchase the thing just cause you stuck the spike on.

Plus you can just say the tubes are plugged from the inside, the torp loading mechanisms were removed and huge metal lumps were welded into the barrels to plug them up.
