Awesome stuff, your painting is fantastic. The daemon prince looks really good, you've really done the model justice. And the dark apostle is brilliant, that cursed croziuz top is a great touch! Look forward to seeing more!

Right, small update (no pics, sadly) about my progress. In preparation of 6th, and posssibly cultists in the codex, I've started work on a bunch of cutthroats. (aka traitor guard) All of them will have marauder horsemen heads (gotta love 17 heads in a set of 5 models). All kinds of them even. So yes, horned viking helms are in. Also, they will be yellow Will post pics when the first unit is done.

Second units will be actual cultists in robes 'n stuff. Maybe counts as penal batalion troops.

Unfortunately, due to an allergic reaction in my painting hand (some bug, apperently..) I am slightly unable right now to continue, for a week. The cultists still need their webbing belts, boots and pouches done.

Pff... I hate the rumour black out.... Will most likely be adding all the rumoured daemon engines though. And my traitor guard allied contingency is growing too. Next up, once I bought the model, a Valkyrie. As of now, I still need a command squad, and my manticore is almost done. Also, hope the starter box is released soonish. I'll most likely be moving slighhtly away from PA marines in favor of cultists and termies.

Great start. Can I ask how you did your reds?

Really simple-ish.

Basecoat: Khorne red
Washes: Devlan mud, Carrowburg crimson, Badab black.
Highlight: Khorne red
Edge highlight: Blood red
Glaze: Bloodletter.

And that's it. Nothing's blended, only had to thin the khorne red for the highlights a bit.

Thanks! I am really trying to figure out exactly how GW gets that burgundy color in the codex and 6th edition rule book. It's been tough to try and match right, and most tutorials refer to paints that don't exist any more. Yours are kind of close to the shade I'm looking for. I'll keep playing with mine.

Aand... Even more ideas. Allies. The obvious actually, daemons. But! Tzeentch only, because they have Lovecraft written all over them. Already planning a new Daemon prince, and teh first 10 horrors are assembled. Now to think up a cool look for a herald. Thinking about using the Changeling. Ideas?

Right, small update. The DV dudes are in, looking pretty good. I probably won't even convert anything. I'm thinking about making this army quite lost & damned. So, more emphasis in dark mechanicus, and cultists.
