Is Slaanesh the creepy stalky ex of the Eldar?

Ok I was reading Path of the Seer, and a thought occured to me.
Rather than Slaanesh being the evil eldar soul munching beast, who loves his tasty treats out of pure sadistic pleasure, perhaps it is better to view Slaanesh is more a creepy obsesive ex.
Its like this the eldar excess gave birth to Slaanesh and Slaanesh gave the Eldar their wildest dreams, which admitidly was a bit freaky at those time. (Certainly freaky enough to give birth to a dark god.) But then some of His/Her parent/lover reject him/her for some frumpy dull thing. Slaanesh can clearly see that they are wasting their lives with her, they could be so much happy if they would return to Him/her! They belong to Him/Her, only Him/her can ever make them truely happy, and S/he will do everything in His/her power to bring them back to him/her forever, FOREVER!!!!!

I'm not sure its a much better prospect than the evil eldar soul munching beast.

You have to consider the idea that Slaanesh doesn't regard the Eldar races souls as separate from it.

Seeing as how Slaanesh is made of the passionate perversions of the old Eldar homeworlds and the souls of the selfsame Eldar it might think that the rest belong to him/her/it.

Slaanesh is as he is because of who made him and how. He is the sentient echo of an entire race launching itself headlong into utter abandon.
In this I don't think Slaanesh has a choice, he thirsts for the souls of the Eldar above all because they are the souls that brought him into being. You could consider him a spurned lover, desperately trying to gain back the affections of those who once cavorted and sang with him, hopelessly attempting to claw back a fragment of those halcyon days.

But even as Slaanesh is obsessive, he is capricious. Spite edges his vision, anger at being denied spurs him into acts of cruelty, determined to destroy the beauty that rejects him that no other might have it, or to at least ruin it so that no other but him would want it. Until he gets his way and is repulsed by the thing he has wrought.

Slaanesh is the meta-mind of the Eldar at the nadir of their fall, it thinks like they did, no care for consequence only one fleeting moment of exultation after another, boundless and unfettered by things like morality or compassion. Why it regards the Eldar that remain in the galaxy in any particular way is as fleeting as his own ephemeral moods.
And to attempt to understand the mind of a god is to invite madness.

I'm not sure anger spurs Slaanesh into cruelty, to be sure it can display anger. He is cruel because it is fun, because it is interesting, because it is bored and wanted to find out what would happen if... Slaanesh is the Guy that takes things too far, then complains that people arn't going far enough. Slaanesh isn't cruel because because it wants to hurt you, well it does want to hurt you, but the pain is good, and you must try it if you are ever going to truely live.

In the context of "love" either romantic or something more family orientated, cruelty and spite are the symptoms created by rejection, the hurt that causes and the resultant anger. Everyone's heard a story or two about the woman that trashes a cheating husband's car/wardrobe/bank account/reputation as some kind of revenge for his behaviour, this is partly how I see Slaanesh's interaction with the Eldar, destroying their works, consuming their souls, not for any real fulfilment, but for a hollow and unrewarding revenge for abandoning him at birth.

I'm with Chem-dog on this, Slaanesh is a creature of pure Id. It pusues it's prey to give it pleasure, this pleasure may be hollow, flawed or even vacuous and unfulfilling but Slaanesh does not or cannot care, it simply doesn't posess that capacity for self-reflection.

The real question should be "Is Slaanesh just an abandoned child scornfully lashing out at the absentee parents this disowned it?"

My take:

Eldar are souls from the warp bound to crystalline bodies created by the Old Ones not unlike wraith bone or their soul stones. When excited adequately they risk tearing loose. The Slaanesh Phenomena was a psychic nuclear fission where trillions of Eldar tore free of their corporeal fetters from the excesses of their passions. Slaanesh Are the Eldar unbound.
