Who do I have to kill to get 40k on my iPhone???

When I think about the old 40k turn-based computer games I used to play--Chaos Gate, Final Liberation, Rites of War--I can't help but think how great they'd be on my iPhone, especially Chaos Gate. What's preventing THQ from developing for iOS? EA is going nuts with it.

What do you think? Is 40k + iOS a match made in Cupertino? Why isn't THQ jumping on the bandwagon?

I thought THQ was on its last legs? Perhaps there's no spare £ to develop stuff to IoS?

I initially thought when I read your thread title the 40k rules on IoS, as I don't know the guy but I saw a chap playing a staffer at GW Aberdeen and he was using his phone to check rules/roll results etc.

I honestly think you'll have to kill the people who own the rights to the games. Other then that, you could try converting them (or get a group to convert them). Also, I personally don't think the ipod is a game system, and, since it seems most companies share my view, you won't really get major companies vesting interest in games for the ipod/phone

You'd stand a better chance of it winding up on Android, seeing as it won't have to go through Apple's crazy systems to put anything onto the iStore.
In fact, it's possible to get a PC emulator and run the old games (assuming you can get/have the relevant files) on an Android device... Hmm...
@Jaggedjaw - most large games companies seem to be moving towards mobile gaming in some respect - there's a huge market for it at the moment. It's not like it's ever going to replace 'proper' consoles or anything but it's becoming a sizeable chunk of the market.
In the Grim Darkness of the Far Grim Dark there is only Grim Darkness, and skulls.

There has never been a better platform for turn based strategy games than the smartphone, IMO. FPS doesn't really work as well, nor do other games that rely on fast-paced action, but that's not an issue for TBS games, so the other conveniences of a mobile platform can be fully enjoyed.

And iOS is the best of the breed for gaming due to stability, reliable performance, number of high quality apps, and graphics IMO.
