Cool Kaiserfaust !!! or The Empire clad in Iron .

    Hallo to All!!!

Due to the growing number of disappointment/anger/wtf? posts after Empire armybook release (not that I'm a saint. I fully understand mortar and h.gunners/crossbowmen rules/cost resentment and have expressed my feelings about hence my infraction ) and being tired of reading them, I decided to start my own painting and project log. As title suggests it will focus on armoured aspect of Imperial Army - Knightly Orders. I stepped into an idea of cavalry force couple of months ago, worked around rules, gone e'bay hunting and now, with new ABook I decided it's time to start. I plan to show both Kaiserfaust project and an Army of Nuln so there will be some more coloured photos . Last Year kept me busy with painting, but I had a stop 3-4 months ago. Hopefully this plog (and Your posts ) will give me enough motivation to finish this project. All comments and suggestions are greatly welcome!!!
Now, let's see what a Kaiserfaust actually is. It is a special cavalry task force assigned to deal with sudden threats in Empire. To put it in other words, they are the men that ride with Emperor when he is in a mood for beastmen hunting for example . It will consist of 28 GW core Knights of the Hammer, 11 Knights of The Inner Circle , 6 Knights of the Blazing Sun, 2 Pistolkorps regiments 5 men each, 5 Outriders, Steamtank and various Heroes and other things that will come along this road.
I hope You will find it somehow interesting.

The Emperor Karl Franz Himself! After short deliberation I decided to represent him with Valten model as I find it Awesome ! He reminds me historical generals from Renaissance age posing in ancient Roman-style armours, but Karl is going for Sigmar-style.

6 Knights of the Blazing Sun in the making. Not sure on painting scheme yet. Traditional black/gold or maybe dark red/gold as on illustration in Army Book on page 42. What I'm happy with is a bannerpole top - those greatsword bitz were very helpfull to achieve what I intended

A Senechal of the Order of the Golden Lion. Order was founded by Her Majesty Elector Countess of Nuln, for bretonnian noble, banished from his land. They say that he earned this with enormous possibilities of recuperation which pleased countess Emanuelle so much, that she ercted a tower in Nuln and gave it his name . It is a place where Order of the Golden Lion has it's Headquarters.

Cool to see you starting your own plog! I really like the idea for your mounted escort for Karl Franz and representing him with Valten is simply genius! You did a nice job on the model!
Putting together a metal Steamtank is a rite of passage every Empire player worth his salt should undergo at least once in his life... Congratulations! You're one of us now

I'll be sure to keep my eyes on this, keep up the good work!

Sure. It's from command sprue from 6th ed. battalion set. You could build mounted or foot character from that. I think it was first multipart generic hero back then, though I might be wrong.

As You can see they are all already primed. I took an awfull lot of time to finish them. Heads were shaved, as I wanted them to be sigmarite order and differ from Reiksguard. Arms were repositioned and warhammers were scratch-built from knights and flagellants bitz, but overall I'm happy with final effect. The only thing that buggers me most is painting them Size of the base is impressive, can't wait to see them in action on the table and that kept me going through conversion period so hopefully this will be enough to go through painting.

I'll put some more photos. This time my allready finished Reiksguard regiment.

Oh, and BTW, photos are in decent quality so if You open them in a separate window You can make some zooming (not much, but still)

Nice work tuttivillus.. How is it coming along? What do You think about your fighting chances? Knightly armies seems to be à little bit frowned upon. Imo they can be really fun if played right :-) can You Give us à potential army list?

    Yay, feedback!!!
I am out for some time, my miss found me a side project which consists of demolishing old porch and building a new one, so I cannot spoil You with new photos. I do work on Knight of the Blazing Sun in a spare time (I really don't have too much of it, but still ) so I post effects at the end of the week. Tomorrow I'll post some photos with artillery section of my Nuln army and maybe something more. Now, let's crack some feedback answers :

Thank You! As to horses, IMO they are still better than some new I've seen. It's that difference You can find between 6th ed. spearmen and new ones. New ones have sooooo much details that it takes ages to paint them right

I think I have enough of them, but I appreciate that. I did checked my bitz box to see if I have some of those lance arms You were interested in, but sadly I have found none

Thanks!!! It's coming like a blood from broken nose as I explained a few sentances back. Nordic folk have longer days in summer so they could do some extra work around the house, right? As to my chances I am not skeptical at all. They are fast, tough-enough and hard hitting. They should do well List will come at the end of the week. I have to sit down and recount my old ones but as knights became a tad cheaper so I'm looking forward to it Skål!

Nice looking log tittyvillius! The knight bus looks great, and the slight conversions really make the models stand out. Those heavily armored chaps are the answer to my mornfangs. 1+ save core is the boss!

Good Luck with all those knights!

Good Luck with all those knights!
Thank You! I also don't like standard GW Reiksguard too much, I always thought that a litlle black here and there will suit them better. Cheers!!!

Now let's see that machine park from my Nuln Army. It is very rare to see all those machines on the table, and now with point cost going sky high with some of them it will be even worse, but still, Nuln is prepared for defence against all kinds of evil. And last, but not least 2 graduates from Artillery School of Nuln. After passing exams from ballistics , technology, material knowlege, alchemy, mechanics, foreign languages and tactics and strategy (let us also not forget off time gambling, binge drinking and pidgeon training) they managed to get into battlefield! Lets hope those lucky charms are worth their price. Nuln Ordnance Artillery Officers with standard field equipment:
