    Warploque Miniatures new releases

    Hi all,

In this thread I would like to put all the upcomming pre orders for Warploque Miniatures. As some will know it produces a Miniature line by Alex, known here on Warseer as WarplockMonkey (very long and good thread).

To get it kicking off, here is the current one and first one on his web shop:

Size:	78.1 KB

    and some artwork for it:

Size:	119.0 KB
ID:	141089

It is for the Halfling line for the upcomming Arcworlde.

I especially like the royalness oozing from this miniature. After some verbal beating on his thread (no sculpters were hurt) he came around and gave us not just another monster but one with character. I like his sculpting style a lot, and think many of his miniatures have that character as well. Yes that is right, you can actually have some small input in the creative process. You get to see the sculpts as they tag along creation and are welcome to comment. He also does his artwork himself and I refer to his thread as well for those.

There is something new again from Warploque Miniatures, now ready to get cast through an pre order:

It has an in-game purpose as a little extra on the board and comes with the tomb stone. If you want to learn more about that, hit Warpy with a PM to request the WIP rules for a little test game or some commenting to the rules.

A small Halfling mercenary wizard with a small wand, both very powerful. I quite like the expression on this little guy,

A dancing nude female elf with lots of hair and a unicorn skull on her head. A naturally well proportioned , so no over the top female body parts, you might say elvishly slim, but I would rather go for naturally athletic. I quite like that, besides go check out the owl and squirrel on that miniature.

And my personal favourite, Jacques D'Urisine - Rogue Gallican Knight

Sir Bedevere incarnate! This model just oozes personality. You can see him go "Oooh!"

Maybe a word on pre orders from Warploque Miniatures, it is just a small one man company and as thus financial risks are high. To prevent disaster Warpy has wisely decided to get a minimum of orders before putting his sculpts on his web shop. If the number is reached, you can still pre order them until the deadline, but also when the first run has been cast. Actually I recently received my Halflings from him and will put a review up here later this evening.

    Re: Warploque Miniatures new releases

So this is my review of my third shipment from Warploque Miniatures, the Halflings the “cast ‘em up project” on Ulule. This was the way to pre-order before it went on the web store with the Cocklegriff.

I admit to being slightly biased as I really like the style of the models, but I will try to give a review as honest as I can. So let’s start with the only thing I dislike: the posting. Signed for is not cheap and sometimes I have to go and get the packages. The packaging on the other hand is fine and quite secure. Warpy sends his shipments bagged and put in bubble wrap in cheap microwave boxes packed tightly in sturdy brown paper, one of his cards on top. I have had no problem with the packaging so far and do not expect to.

Now to the interesting part the contents, you can get better pictures of the miniatures on the homepage, but I have already painted one cook.

All I can say is that the casting is excellent. I am no fan of resin, but some undercuts and flying pieces of cloth could not have been cast like that in metal. At least I have not seen it yet. With these I got Jebzakkah B'Ork as well and his shoes are amazing. There is lots of fine detail and variation in these models, and the facial expressions are ace. Mould lines are hard to find, because they are hardly there. That is why I give these a wash after basecoat to be sure I missed none.
Most of Warpy’s miniatures are one piece casts. This helps with great posing by the sculptor but is not the best for wanting customisability. This to me is no problem as the miniatures themselves tell great stories, great for collecting and gaming.

    Hope you liked it.

Oh man that Bedivere is perfect! I've been wanting to convert up the Monty Python knights in 25mm for a scenario, and he's the only one I was having a hard time figuring out what to do. I'll keep this in mind for when I do get to that project, he's the spitting image of Terry Jones.
The great thing about the dwarves is that, even though there's this comic element, when they fight - they really fight!

Well, better get them now, because this is an pre-order to allow this small business to get them cast. With the cheaper international shipping option things are improving on the website.

    Re: Warploque Miniatures new releases

With all the crazy crowd funding going on lately it is also time to update this thread for a far smaller goal. There is a new pre order from Warploque Miniatures with models for a new faction.

The Albionnican 27th foot regiment from the human empire with the same name. This is the civilized human faction that is more like a federation of people, hence the ogre.
In time there will be the opposite weapon load, e.g. ogre with heavy assault missile weapon and a regiment of close combat warriors to defend the big guy. But let's see what is in this one first:

    A captain:

    A sergeant:

    An engineer with Griffling:

And the ogre (with painted trooper):

I hope you like them as well and are able to make this range grow. As usual more and larger pictures in the link and some fluff as well.

    Re: Warploque Miniatures new releases

Yes he does, he has a certain "rough" style which I really like. He is also great at catching a character and makes nice artwork as well. Besides you can lend advice or hints while he sculpts, there is fun to be had on his thread here at Warseer (see first post for a link).

I failed to mention that when 20 pre orders are made he will add a banner bearer for free. He is currently working on it and has a picture in his thread of the WIP.

Warpy's casts are very clean, no bubbles I can remember, and almost no flash. The resin is of very good quality. The sculpting, well, see the pics.

I do like the Albionicans. Those have gone on my shopping list as ideal minis for an industrial fantasy game I'm planning.

Well you can now get them with a 10% discount, though the language used in that podcast is certainly not youth free. The code is in the beginning when they name the sponsors.

    Re: Warploque Miniatures new releases

News from Warploque miniatures again, some new miniatures will get the pre-order treatment. But only two weeks this time (10th of november).

First off is the Bayourk Brute Pack:

Name:	Bayourk1_1.jpg
Views:	59
Size:	75.7 KB
ID:	156220

It contains the three bodies, 6 weapon options and a hillbilly hat. Very dynamic posing, especially with the kicking one.

The second one is Krunk the Barbarian with three weapon options:

Size:	70.9 KB
ID:	156222

Although I showed the batter, personally I find the axe the best looking option.

It is a very drunk monkey on a barrel of the liquor of your choice, named Gibbs. This model will also be this years Christmas special from Warploque Miniatures. You can get one for free on every order in December that is over £25.

It will only be available in these deals, so better get one fast.

    Re: Warploque Miniatures new releases

No new miniatures this time I just thought it interesting to keep this thread updated with the plans for a Warploque Miniatures kickstarter in August.

    Things known so far:
Warpy is sculpting a lot of miniatures for this wants to have the greens done before this goes live. For pictures check out his thread here.

Here is a link to a video he has made about it.

    Great sound effects .
