Oh no, you misunderstood. It's pick any of the two we roll for, so for example you roll a whatever and find it's a toss up between LD and I. You would then choose either +1 Initiative or +1 Leadership.

I had a couple of games of Infinity tonight. I was using a Yu Jing force consisting of 3 Zhanshi, 3 Ketotsu Butai and Ko Dali, a special character. I was facing Rupert's Ariadna French special forces (I forgot their proper name) and in my first game despite Ko Dali falling at the first shot she took, my Ketotsu and Zhanshi did great picking off any who got into sight (it's like everyone is on overwatch in this game). The first two killed were done by the same Ketotsu who ends up earning the nickname "Killer". Sadly, Killer got shot down as she tried to get into position.

My second game looked promising as we played a larger game (150, last one was 100) and I got to use my Ninja who has managed to use her infiltration skills to nab a high tower in the centre of the table. She started off by picking off Rupert's sniper while my Zhanshi, Ketotsu and Ko Dali found a narrow passage that was not covered by Rupert's troops. Better, his Heavy Machine Gun (abbreviated to HMG in the game) was right on the other side of the table. If he tried to move and made a bad choice my sniper rifle armed Ninja could pick him off. However on an early turn that guy managed to get under her platform (we had a bastion sitting on top of the aquila landing pad) and after looking at my ninja's stats and weapon rules I got over excited at the prospect of close combat and had her start to climb down, where Rupert's medic got a lucky shot off and killed her!
With no Ninja sniper dictating the battlefield, my force was stuck behind a building and was pretty much forced into a defensive firefight. Around now I saw it was 11.00 and thought it'd be best if we call it a night, after all I had to call home for a lift and hated the idea of keeping Mum awake late on a work night.

These two games were really us just trying the rules out before we go into the big stuff. Like for example, my Ninja has thermal optic camouflage but we decided not to mess with anything too tricky for now. Next week we'll be playing some more games, probably more practice but we're going straight into 150 so I might bring my Invincibles, or see if I can buy something nasty in the meantime.

I dont play infinity but it trikes me that your ninja will be alot more effective when your playing with all his rules (like thermal optic camo ) so dont abandom him just yet id say

My ninja is a 'she' not a 'he'. I have no plans to abandon my Ninja, in fact I plan to do the opposite! I hope to field a force consisting of Ninja, Oniwaban, Saito Togan and Oniwaban Shinobu Kitsune! In case you didn't quite get that, it'll be an all ninja themed force.
But in the meantime I bought more Keisotsu (got the name wrong in my last post) and Zhanshi with some tastier weaponry off Wayland games. I found my force lacking in fancy firearms other than the fact that my Zhanshi and Keisotsu's regular weapons were better than the Ariadnian's regular weapons. But they had launchers and HMG's, so hopefully next time I'll even the playing field when it comes to firepower!

Buying the other Ninja stuff will cost 30 pounds so I might save them as a 'treat' for next pay day, and of course there's the fact I'm still learning the rules so it's not really the time to be messing with lists like that just yet.
In the meantime, I have a Zhanshi with a HMG and some Keisotsu with a missile launcher, light grenade launcher and a HMG in the mail and hopefully I'll have them tomorrow.

Yeah, I figured. None of the Ninja actually have a HMG, but they do have some nasty close combat weapons and really good fighting skills (what else do you expect from Ninjas?).

OK, no models painted (again? For the record I much prefer making the models an deploying the games than painting) but after last Monday's game, Rupert has set me the task of getting two models painted by our next game in two weeks time.
So after thinking about how I want to paint my Japanese Sectorial Army, I thought about Samurai and recalled watching series 1 of Sengoku Basara earlier this year.

My favourite character in that anime (Date Masamune) and his force wore a dark grey and blue uniform but I was painting my Bushido stuff red. I felt a bit disappointed at the time as I'd have liked to have done a homage with some Samurai models, but I didn't want to restart my Bushido force.
But the Japanese Sectorial Army has a strong Samurai influence in it so now was the perfect time to do that homage!
Here's a pic of the character that I'm basing my paint scheme on-


So I'll paint the armour dark grey (maybe Adeptus Battlegrey or Charadon Granite) with gold details and the cloth blue with white details. Don't know about weapons and other paraphernalia just yet. I might use white for that and leave it off the cloth.

For now I have two Keisotsu undercoated and I'll make a start tonight.

Ok it's not much but here's some WIP Keisotsu Butai. They're not finished but this is how the colour scheme for these guys will be. I may add some gold for more important models such as Domaru and Haramaki.

The flesh was done by adding a spot of Tausept Ochre to Tallarn flesh.

Sorry dude, Infinity and Super Dungeon Explore are pretty much all I'm up to barring the odd game of Warhammer or 40K nowadays. Quiet days at the club and I haven't even seen Rupert for a few weeks.
There's one or two interesting Necromunda plogs floating around right now though.
