    Models that are lacking

I came across this artwork from warhammer online the other day and i think its amazing. If gw made a sculpt similar to this (and updated skeletons) it would make me start TK. Are there any models in your opinion lacking majorly? obviously there will be a some, another for me would be salamanders, they have alot of potential to be a great sculpt. I realise this artwork has been around for a while, sorry if this has been brought up before.

I too don't like the new salamanders, in fact, I don't really like the new lizardmen aesthetics... because I think their old stuff was so much better. Of course the newer stuff is fancier, technology evolved and yadayada, but the old core designs were much nicer I think.
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming like the other people in his car.

Got those old 5th edition lizardmen collecting dust? PM me, I really need more metal skinks with javelins.

Considering the paltry effort of GW's last Tomb King release, I've shelved my models until some new models are released. I can't stand looking at the new, actually good looking, models next to the old ones. Too much of a stark contrast.

I would absolutely love to see a Tomb Scorpion like that one. That, and new heroes for Beastmen...

Alot of the dwarf Plastics for me. I Started my dwarf army When marauder were kicking about, so my IB's Hammerers Longbeards are of that era. I just hate the only way to tell the differance between longbeards and Warriors now, is a small visor (the plastic ones, im not a massive fan of the current metal longbeards, Ironbreakers and hammerers either though) Slayers are still nice, i think, but i dont think alot of the current metal dwarfs fit well with the plastic sets. I cant stand the current Gyrocopter or warmachines except for the Organ gun either come to think of it lol

I've recently returned to Warhammer after an 8 year gap and the one set of models that've leapt out at me as "not being as good as the ones back in my day" are minotaurs.

Playing both Skaven and VC, I wish the ranges offered official, current BSB models. Bashing one together out of the IoB set, or ordering from FW is all well and good, but I wish I'd had access to a nice metal model before Finecast hit.

The Bonebreaker is also a sad gap, although it was fun converting one.

Zombies spring to mind, with their oversized body-parts. What's with the torso that looks like he's got a sweater tied round his neck or the scythe arm where he's thrusting it out in front of him, rather than being held in a cool pose. They need to redesign it and maybe include some military looking ones rather than peasants, or maybe even some freaky looking Necrarch creations.

    High Elf core infantry.
Dark Elf Spear Elves and Crossbowmen.
    Empire Knights.
Vampire Counts Zombies (fun kit, but could be better in comparison with the rest of their stuff - I can't really complain about that range, though!)
Tomb Kings Skeletons, Chariots, and Skeleton Horsemen.
    Tomb Kings Tomb Scorpions.
Common Goblin anything (odd sizes and have an old look about them compared to the Night and Forest varieties)
    Chaos Marauders.
    Skaven Night Runners/Gutter Runners.
...and a little help comes in a little glass vial in a gun pressed against her anatomy...

The squigs, there's never been one that was half as good as the hopper drawing in the 4th ed book, sadly.

Go online and get the special edition one that was offered in the army box years back. Its amazing looking still. Also, the last edition's Stormvermin standard bearer is a decent sculpt too, and looks like a character because last edition Stormvermin are noticeably bulkier than this edition models, so he stands out.

Just a few options if you were not aware of them.

    Re: Models that are lacking

You could probably think of something for every army really, since some things don't get re-released when the rest of the army does so they don't really fit in or don't look up to standard. And here's my list of these models (going to try to avoid the older models if possible, but with things like bretts, it's pretty hard)

Beastmen: shamans (IMO) and pumba (a.k.a razorgor0)
Bretts: Pilgrims (only complaint about that armies models)
Daemons: Seekers (steeds are fine, daemonettes ruin the model), Beast of nurgle (what even is going on on that model)
Dark elves: Corsairs (a.k.a pantomine actors. Old models are better IMO)
    Dwarfs: Standard warriors/longbeards
High elves: Pretty much all of the unit re-releases (I'm REALLY picky about these, they are bigger than the old models and I don't like it)
    Lizards: Chameleons
Ogres: Thundertusk and stonehorn (I don't like them and I just don't know why)
    O&G: MANGLERS!!!!!!!!!
Skaven: New WLC (It's not even a cannon anymore, it's a laser)
Empire: Can't really say I really find the majority of the army fairly boring, but it fits the background pretty well
TK: New liche priest, Tob guard
Vampires: New wraith (not too bad, but does not fit in with the army IMO, plus if you want a unit of wraiths now, you can only use that model
Warriors: Warhounds (old ones were better, just expensive as hell)
Wood elves: Some of the wardances (mostly look pretty cool, but some of them just don't fit in)
Apologies in advance if any of my post appear to have words missing letters, my keyboard is faulty and I refuse to get another one.
After reading Valkia's book, I've come to this conclusion: Vakia is a strong, independant consort of Khorne, who don't need no mortal man to bring her down.

I don't like the current empire state troops models, in particular the bare foot guy.

I think the zombies are ridiculous for VC, and the ghouls are just horrible.
