Question Question about new paints, airbrushing and 'workflow'

Hello there, I recently purchased some of the new GW paints to do Bloodletters and World Eaters. I also got two cards which show the base, shade layers and so on for these units, showing the order in which they are applied.

    For example:

World Eaters - Khorne Red (base)
    Carroburg Crimson (wash)
    Wazdakka Red (layer)
    Squig Orange (layer)

I have an airbrsh to give me smooth consistent coats across a number of models quickly, it ca also do slightly more detailed work. However i'm wondering on what would be the best way to proceed. Should I Spray Khorne red, then wash then apray Wazdakka, or would it be better to spray Khorne then Wazdakka then carefully wash in the recesses only before continuing? Or some other way?

Anyone have any experience or ideas?

How does it stay in the air? Oh, it's powered by pure handwavium
Quick, let me take my (Mat) Ward save!

Re: Question about new paints, airbrushing and 'workflow'

I've had a simililar situation with my blood angels. I just use my airbrush for the basecoat only, thinned with tamiya acrylic thinner.
Then everything else with a brush.

Unless Its a tank, then i will do a spray wash but in stages.
I'll spray the top, let it dry, rotate it on its side and spray the top. (being the side of the tank)
I'll only spraywash a tank on the top, spray a side and it runs and causes a mess.

Khorne red is quite close to mephiston red and then we both use the same wash but my highlights are different to yours, I use evil sunz scarlet then wild rider red.
So I airbrush on a basecoat of mephiston.
repaint specific areas with abaddon black.
Carefully wash red armour with carromburg crimson.
Then layer highlights in this order: Mephiston, evil sunz and wild rider.

I actually go back and paint mephiston (watered down well) after i wash over it.
it Just makes the model have so much more depth and contrast between the reds and well... it just seems to work for me.

you could always test a marine this way but with the paints you quoted.

    Hope this helped.
