I made some more progress on my 3rd Rhino, sculpting daemonic faces on the side doors. It should look sweet painted up!

6th edition is awesome! I love the fact that my Defilers have four hull points and I can have Daemons as allies!

As for models, I have nearly finished painting up another squad of plague marines. They are all kit bashed and then had extensive greenstuff work done to it.

Haha, the squad is now finished, I just have to add the slime. I don't have pictures of all the Marines, but they are all painted basically the same anyway.

Re: The Sons of Davin - Plague Marine army...

Here are some pictures of my newly painted Plague Marine squad, but whith the Posterize filter added to the pictures. I really like the way the pictures have came out, they look warped and wierd and have made the rusted surface in wich I took the pictures on almost look like splattered blood. Please tell me what you think.

Also I have started work on painting some more Plague Marines ( I got about five squads of seven in total! ). What I did at the moment is a basic Army Painter camo-green base coat with a Thraka-green wash.

Yeah ! I do like them - the green color is cool , flesh is very meaty and mixing them with possesed parts works ;-)
Keep up a good work ;-) (don`t like blade on the Plasma gun and Bezerks leg`s - but that just me )

Re: The Sons of Davin - Plague Marine army...

Thanks very much! As for the Beserker's legs, was just trying to add a bit of movement in the squad- but that's a matter of personal taste
    __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___________________
Here is an update on my latest squad: All of them have now been base-coated and washed so now I'm doing the detailing and adding the secondary colours. For this squad I'm also painting thier helmets bone coloured so they are different from the others in some way and also look cool. As for the fleshy bits, I plan to layer on some pinks and maybe blend reds around the edges to make it appear sore. I know these guys don't look that good at the moment, but I'm going for a manufacturing line technique of painting where I get all the models to the same standard before going to do detailing.

Hi, done some more work on the Plague Marines, mainly highlighting the skull helmets and the faces...

What I did was I highlighted the edges and the surfaces that would catch the light the most with skull white, and then gave it another wash of Devlan mud just to dull the white down a little bit. some of the bone comes off a bit too intense in these pictures because the sun was a bit too intense. I'll take better pictures when I have them nearing completion, I just wanted to show you guys the progress and try and get a bit of feedback.

Also yesterday was one of the best days ever...why? because I watched the new Dark Knight film for about £3.00 because it was a discount day and I had my Odeon card, the film its self was awesome! I loved Bane and Catwoman, just everyone's acting was absolutely superb. Anyway, I won't say anything else in case some of you guys have not see it yet, I highly recommend seeing it though!

The other thing that made my day was seeing these little beauties:

Yes that's right plastic Plague Bearers! I have been waiting for plastic ones for years. I have so many conversion ideas already, yet they haven't even been released yet! One of my ideas is combining them with the Chaos Space Marine kit and create some plague marines not too different form the OOP Rogue Trader ones like these...
These are not mine by the way.

Also there are new Nurglings being released which look so darn cool, and they look like a proper swarm now as well:

I will be buying some of them for a Pre-Heresy style nurgle land raider that I'm dreaming up at the moment. So stay tuned for that and just a general review of the new sculpts and pictures of the sprues and specific cool bits. From first looks at the picture, to me personally the sculpts look way better than the previous metal ones; they have more character and diversity of poses. The pricing as reasonable as well at £18 pounds roughly for the Plague Bearers and roughly £16 for three piles of Nurglings.

So thanks for reading, stay tuned for a lot of new content and feel free to post your views about my models or what I have said in this update.

    Thanks for reading

Edit: I have found some more info on the boxes: Each Nurgling pile consists of three parts: Front, middle, back. So you can make 27 pile variants. The plague bearer sprue contains 10 extra nurglings and some piles of maggots.

Re: The Sons of Davin - Plague Marine army...

A quick update... I went to a local art/hobby shop to check out thier minis as well as some GW stuff that they are selling. What I picked up was some Aqua-gloss varnish for finishing off the stream of toxic waste in the bottom of my decorated cabinet. I also picked up some dead shrubbery and Vallejo paints:

So I brushed on some of the gloss varnish and left it to dry, now the toxic waste stream looks so much more realistic. Also I stuck on some of the orange shrubbery to the cabinet and some of the minis bases because I thought that it would work well as wierd alien swamp plants. There are pictures of the models in the cabinet below...

Thank you very much! I had bought a CSM battleforce off eBay a while ago to add to my force, so there has been plenty of converting and kit-bashing.
