putting money aside for a starter box. redo my thousand sons and "flesh" them out a bit with some cultists if rumors are true. either way, hoping thousand sons will be playable again. fourth and fifth were not kind.

I'm waiting to see what they do with it. 5th was not good for my armies, and if 6th continues the trend, I'll probably quit altogether.

Re: How are you gearing up for 6th edition?

Since more fliers are out for 40K, I guess there must be some special use for them in 6th(?).
Might get around to making some of these things but it'll just be for enjoyment not really for playing. Although I always said this about 'never collecting Orks' and I'm on my way to a small 1000points-ish army of them. Also, Ork aircraft (and the usual plethora of Mekboy 'cobbled-together' goodness) are things which have always intrigued and enthralled me.

Hopefully, my current kitbashes and scratchbuilds (Marine dreadnoughts, Wraithlords, Orky looted tanks and Chaos daemon-engines) should still be in 6thEd and the various codices somewhere?
I am urgently trying to contact any living relatives of Sam 'Jock' Wilson, KIA 10.06.44, UK army service id 2764432, from Morley, West Yorkshire, England. Served with Black Watch Regiment & No.6 Commando.

Buying Malifaux and Warmachine instead. Also gonna try to get a Gorkamorka campaign going.

If 6th is a new game instead of just 40k 5.1 then I might be interesting.

Edit: The Chaos codex also has to be awesome for me to come back.

I´m not gearing up for the 6th edition.

I´ll wait for the starterbox and from there I´ll give it a chance.

This isn't my first edition change, and I doubt it'll be my last.
I've got a load of stuff for a load of armies so I can just rewrite lists from my existing collections.
That said, I'll start a new army for the new edition.
    I usually do.
This time I think I'm going to start a Mentor Legion SM force.

I plan on waiting for the release of the BRB, and then maybe the release of DA so setting money aside but that's about it

This is the first edition change where I've actually been playing at the time, despite playing since rogue trader.

My spez muhreenz are going to be my primary army, at least until the Eldars team codex comes out.

    not so ditto.
I'm going to stick with my two current armies - after realizing that I have over 8k points worth of guard.

How am I preparing? Well knowing that Dark Angels are to be updated in the near future, I'm revisiting my old models and adding new units. I'm trying to get a full 2000 point army ready to try out the new rules on day one. So far, so good...

    Keeping my fingers crossed.

I played 4e, but I haven't touched the game since. As someone out of the game, I'm pretty excited by the rumors I am hearing, and I hope the game turns out as good as I think it will. I started with 40k back in the 2e era, and I'm getting excited to jump back in.

We'll be running a massive Mega-Apocalypse event in September to help celebrate the new Edition and get players motivated to catch up on all the new rules and purchase new models!

Re: How are you gearing up for 6th edition?

I'm replacing all my imperial guardsmen with Defiance Games UAMC Marines. Fantastic sculpts, by the way. That ought to keep me busy for a while, long enough for the edition change to sink in, and the box set to come out to add to my chaos and dark angels forces.

I stopped painting my custom chapter CSM cause I hope the new CSM codex isn't far behind and the new rules will somehow make CSM a bit better. I haven't really bought anything in the past couple of months 40K wise and won't until 6th comes out.

Re: How are you gearing up for 6th edition?

Got money ready for the new chaos book + one of every new kit that comes with it i expect (depending on the models ofc) :P Other than that I have the models to handle the edition change regardless of FoC changes.

Finishing up my 2nd edition house rules codex rewrites for 'crons and Dark Eldar, and continuing to ignore any edition that has no M stat or save modifiers?
    Current projects:
    Crone World Eldar
    Slann
