Which warhammer special characters are married or otherwise romantically involved?

Based on something that came up in another topic...

Ok we know Vlad & Isabella were married (and before that Vlad/Vashanesh and Neferata). And Karl Franz is possibly married (according to Skavenslayer & Drachenfels). What about other warhammer special characters, thinking specifically about Empire, Dwarf, High Elf ones... Do the Black Library novels or other sources give us information on any of these?

Leaving aside characters who only appear in novels and Kim Newman novels in particular (otherwise we'll be here a while):

Tyrion and the Everqueen are an item. The Everqueen also spent her formal year married to Finubar.
Boris Todbringer has had two wives and three children (at least one of whom is illegitimate). He's currently unmarried, though, and I don't think any mention of his family has been made in the battlegame, only the RPG.
Valmir von Raukov, Aldebrand Ludenhof and Marius Leitdorf also have/had legitimate sons, according to the WFB 8th ed rulebook, the 6th ed Empire army book and the Swords of the Empire novels.
Duke Tancred (who might have been a special character once?) has a couple of sons indicated in Knights of the Grail.
King Kazador had (has?) a son, although the rest of his family were kidnapped by Gorfang Rotgut.
    Orion and Ariel, obviously.
Neferata and Vashanesh, once upon a time.
Fritz and Emmanuelle von Carstein (seems to be a thing with vampires).
Sigmar had a couple of paramours at various stages, according to the trilogy, and former WFRP background.

That's actually all I can think of.

Re: Which warhammer special characters are married or otherwise romantically involved

Mad question. It's actually an interesting topic, whereas a lot of fantasy settings have romantic storylines running through them (thinking Tolkien etc...) Warhammer doesn't seem to bother with it. Aside from Detlef Sierck/Genevieve there aren't too many 'love' based stories in particular. Felix Jaeger has his moments with Kirsten in the Border Princes and then Ulrika of course but I can't think specifically of many named characters who do.

Dwarfs- we don't here much about Dwarf women AT ALL. That being said I'm reasonably sure all the major Lords of holds are married. A lot of Dwarf BL novels (Gav Thorpe's ones in particular) have queens as a prominent part of the stories.

HE's- If we specifically consider the Phoenix Kings they is actually a case for crying bigamy. All spend a year with the Everqueen as consort although a lot are married too. Caledor I had a wife and son when he became Phoenix King for example.

I think with Vlad/Isabella Vashanesh/Neferata you've kind of mentioned the 'power couples' who held dominion together over the land. I honestly can't think of that many more. They may come to me or someone might jog my memory.

Edit after Athelassan's post so I don't spam: Without naming more examples it's safe to assume that most of the Elector Counts/nobles of the Empire have either girlfriends/mistresses and or wives. The Empire as a whole seems to be fairly promiscuous, especially in state capitals where much of the BL novels take place.

Doh. Completely forgot about Orion and Ariel- that seems the most obvious one thinking about it.

Alarielle is an interesting one. Considering how Tyrion and her are an item it makes me wonder to what extent the year as the Phoenix Kings consort is pure formality. Some have had children with the Everqueen (starting with Aenarion of course) but others either don't seem bothered (like Caledor) or the queen has other suitors. Tyrion seems to genuinely love her and I assume the feelings are reciprocated, he is the defender of Ulthuan after all.

The fluff for WoC Valkia the bloody describes her as 'Khorne's consort' and implies her as a bride of the blood god - though how literal this can be taken is extremely debatable

That sounds... disturbing. Chaos Gods have all sorts of weird consorts going on. I've also just remembered Sigvald the Magnificent has a wife called Freyja, although he tends to kill any wife who gets a wrinkle or crease on their face or skin. That's a tough gig.

    Thst's for sure.

The Elector Count of Wissenland (and Nuln) Emanuelle von Liebewitz is said to have seduced Karl-Franz to gain the seat of Elector Count to which she had not such a good claim to originally. Mentioning this openly is of course considered high treason...

That one's not clear; there are other places which indicate she was the daughter of the previous Count, which seems quite a good claim. (I also don't like the idea that the Emperor can just pick successors to an Elector, but that's a different matter).

    I forgot about that one.

Regarding Malekith and Morathi, I've always considered that "just" a very unhealthy mother-son relationship. Apart from anything else, Malekith's sealing inside a suit of armour would make any sort of physical relationship difficult.

The Witch Elves are "consorts of Khaine", too, of course, although, as with Valkia, I don't think that indicates anything other than their being married to the job.

The blood of Aenarion books comfirm that the everqueen and Tyrion are an item? And caledor might also have fathered a daughter on the everqueen after the events of the sudnering. there is more than 500 years years between then and his death. I'm going with the everqueen having the blood of every everqueen and every phoenix king who ever lived in her viens (except it must either be Caledor I or Caledor II not both cause elves dont marry their sisters according to Malekith).

The important part is ofcourse to keep the blood link to Astarielle.

On the other issues i dont think Orion's and Ariel's marriage is that kind any longer, considering neither of them is elfs any more.

And i think Malekith may be sleeping with alot of his wives (sorceresses) although i know alot of people disagree with me on that part. (dark elves need other driving forces aside from hatred and killing)

As Athelassan mentioned, I don't think Malekith would be sleeping with anyone in the conventional sense due to that whole armour thing he has going on... but, at the same time, since when have Dark Elves ever been constrained to the conventional when it comes to pleasure and pain?

Utterly ridiculous storyline from my point of view. Was either from the Blackhearts novel or Giantslayer, can't remember which.

Tyrion and the Everqueen was from Graham McNeill's series, not Blood of Aenarion.

And I'm not sure that elves would scoff at it as most humans tend to.

I dont think Teclis was with any 5 dollar farming implement, the high elves would have a rigid consort system similar to the ancient greeks. Different grades of prostitutes did different things, the higher up ones could play an instrument or read poetry etc. I think this is the category Teclis would be picking from.

What about Thorgrim Grudgebearer? Is there a little grudgebearer being carried around on a little golden throne whacking his guards with a "rune-pan" saying "not the mamma!" Seriously though I can imagine the strict life of the high king being highly prohibitive to procreation and relationships in general, which doesnt make sense since there needs to be more kings after him (yes I know its an elected position)

It's in the original story by Bill King from the 4th edition and subsequent Warhammer Armies book.

$5, huh? That's good value; round here a hoe costs seven quid and up.

It's a single scene at the beginning of Giantslayer, not a "storyline". In addition, I think stormblade is bringing his own "unique" interpretation to the scene - IIRC there's nothing indicating that the two women in Teclis' bed are prostitutes or courtesans. I always thought that being the greatest mage in Ulthuan made him a babe magnet. That, or goth chicks dig the pale skin and dark hair.

It seems like Gotrek did have a wife and child(ren?) - his role in their deaths seems to be what caused him to take the slayer's oath.

    Or is there?
