Point 1 I totally agree with, and it's a shame and the main thing by far that has made the AoW a "dud." (THough it's looking good they'll make the basic goal now, it was sketchy for a while).

Point 2 I kinda agree with - though Sedition Wars and Mantic don't seem to be hurting each other too much (they are kinda different, one sci-fi and a boardgame, the other a fantasy range). I would have held back a bit if I were AoW to give people time to recover from Mantic's campaign of vaccuming up people's money. But I think people would have "found" the money for it if the perks were too good to pass up on.

Point 3 is vaild - but ehh, I trust AoW to be top-notch. We know they'll be workable matches for WHF, but with a little different design. Felix has made a ton of Dwarves to reference. (They're all pretty spiffy imo). I'm not worried about them being bad in the slightest (though, obviously, more knowledge going in is always better). I'm much more worried all these new Mantic minis will disappoint - but they'll be getting a lot more money from me (thanks to point 1!).

4 I disagree with. There's really only two "mostly non-metal" Dwarf ranges. GW is getting ridiculously expensive (I know I'd like Ironbreakers, but won't buy them at goldsword pricing when they come out), and Mantic's is pretty lacking (it's a clone army!). They added a lot of unique units - but unfortunately, pursuant to point 1, they didn't get enough cash to make them. (I have a small glimmer of hope they'll hit 23k for the bear warriors). And realistically, 95% of people will want them for a WHF dwarf army.

The updated version helped, and I don't think they would have made it to 20k without the changes. But it's a shame the raffles were axed as I think a lot of people would have kicked in $5 to contribute and have a small chance to win big. (That being said, I am one of 11 entrants - so it's fortuitous for me that they did get axed).

The art is cheap, but has a pretty small range of appeal. They could have added in lots of cheap things to get people to contribute though (like say existing AoW heros, but with an alternate exclusive weapon, or a helmeted version, etc etc).

    Re: Dwarf Army funding campaign!

@1: I agree with this, but it seems intentional. AoW wants to earn from this project as well, they do not see it as a marketing tool. Which is a shame because most backers in my opinion do.

@2: Probably, I only care about fantasy and as such only skimmed Sedition Wars, but of lately there is always something big going on. Sometimes even some together. So starting times are hard to choose, but I am convinced you need the project to finish about five days into the month or any other appropriate date that is five days after the pay day of the majority. With 31 days to go you get two potential monthly budgets, which is better as stopping just before. Cash is tight with me these days, both due to a backlog from successful other projects and buying on a strict budget.

@3: Technically some prototypes are existent already, we have some metals and berserkers combined with the track record of Felix Paniagua. So I am very confident, but projects like these are like social media and need constant updates and marketing screaming. Take the little details of the last update on veterans. These are the things I want to know and which can generate excitement. Take a piece of artwork and take the time to explain it to us. After checking the artwork section link this is something I should look into for a print or two.

@4: Yes the focus is narrow, but I was amazed by the full scope of their plans concerning dwarfs, this is what made me want to pledge. I want to see them do it, I want to add those miniatures to my dwarfs. Some combo with rules would have been nice, not sure if adding the WAR-faction would have been good considering the backlog there.

Shipping could have been handled better as well, I can wait for the full order to have been produced and would prefer it to be send in one go, usually that gives free shipping with AoW as far as I know.

On the bright side of things this project looks like it can make it again, so I will state again I so hope the bear warriors are to be included.

Felix has just updated the perks list again! There's a new option. Limited edition Mini!

    $15
    Ltd.Ed. Army Standard Bearer
A limited edition miniature of a Dwarf Army standard bearer. Only available through this campaign!
    http://igg.me/p/102435

The project has approximately 5 days left and only needs another $2,200 to be fully funded.

Even though it seems impossible with this campaign, I still want Felix to make armored bears.

Ohh...that's pretty enticing. $15 includes worldwide shipping, so you can pick just that up.

This campaign definitely has picked up momentum since it got updated. I think there's a good chance that the bear warriors get made, and an outside shot that the lord on bear and bear lord get made.

Well, $15 is something I can maybe throw at them.

Hopefully that's not too little, too late, though.

Happy to see they made it, not a big fan of Dwarfs, but as a Warriors of Chaos player, I can hardly complain about AoW's releases!

    Yes!! Great news.

Seems like the limited edition is doing well and boosting this campaign greatly. I was sure it would get there when I saw they added it and now I can even hope for those bear warriors.

Yep, couldn't resist that one myself.
Just imagine what a fantastic success this project could have been if they went about it a little differently.

Dwarfs bear warriors just breached. [YEAAAAH!]

Well it seems some lessons were learned and that gives good hope for future projekts. Did the treasure hunters go from 5 to 10 per unit?

I would of pumped all my money into this if there wasnt the KoW or Sedition Wars kickstarter. would of been nice if they did it a bit later then the other 2. Oh well glad to see they managed to get there minimum amount pledged.

The bear warriors mark has been reached. About $2,000 to go to the next stretch goal!

And now we breached the next target, I will most certainly get many of these dwarfs as well later on. I am looking forward to some greens next month.

    Re: Dwarf Army funding campaign!

Dwarf King on War Bear achieved! Dwarf Bear Lord soon to come, but will they reach the Dwarf Pathfinders stretch goal? I'll pump some of those into my ranger unit, sooner or later.

Oddly, I am almost looking forward to Dwarf Geologist and Sniper more so than Valkyries. Almost. But those are stretch goals that won't be reached with this funding campaign, and thus they will take time before being released. The Geologist will probably make a splendid Miner champion, or hero with Rune of Brotherhood.

    !

Yes. Yes they did. That actually throws a wrench in my plans. I wanted to just get 20 minis: 5 pathfinders, 10 thunder warriors, and a mortar w/ crew. Looks like I'm going to need to rethink some things.

EDIT: The Dwarf Bear Lord has been reached. The next target is Dwarf Pathfinders at $31,250: Just over $3500 away.

    EDIT: This update just appeared.

Many of you have asked to exchange 5 minis of a perk for heroes. Sure! If you are interested in adding to your perk any of the AoW existing heroes (Dwarfs or not), you can exhange 5 minis of your perk for a hero.
For example, on the 100 minis perk, you can get 90 minis and two heroes.
I think I may just go ahead and contribute for more than 20 minis now.

Damned, if it only was clearer what you could actually do with your perk I'd double my commitment and get another 50 points worth to spend. At this moment I am sure the pathfinders will make it at the very least in the next two days.

I'm still hoping the Dwarf cavalry gets made - a day and a half to raise $10k may be a stretch too far though
