$ 7,720 in! Dwarf Crossbowmen on the way. One of my favourite Dwarf units in Warhammer, by the way. Slightly more than 1/3 of the money has been donated in slightly less than 1/3 of the campaign time. AoW might make it, although not with a great stretch beyond the minimum 20k needed for the funding to succeed.

Well another mark reached, it would have been nice to see some changes or to have more contact with the company. I know they basically only communicate through their forum, so I had better get over there and have a look.

Quite a long stretch to the next mark, I so hope, that at least the bear warriors get reached.

If the current pace keeps up, Felix will have no problem reaching the 20k mark.

I'm torn. I like AoW dwarves and I want to contribute. I definitely want the campaign to be a success. But I'd rather spend my money on their elf, human, and greenskin models.

Same for me, Dwarves are interesting, but it are also the only models that I don't have from AoW.. .

The list almost looks like a wishlist for gw plastic dwarf releases! No coincidence I think! I am really looking forward to some of the things towards the bottom ofthe list, like the golem, but elite dwarf infantry would be good as well. I might invest in a slayer regiment now as a show of support.

Why are mantic and avatars of war doing theirs at the same time? Just curious... seems a bit strange? Just slightly different timing might have been really helpful? I play dwarves and love the avatars of war models - but my moneys going mantic ... but I'd gladly have given them both money had they not been competing.

It's not like they're the same company, so it doesn't seem that strange. Might as well ride the wave while it exists. Mantic's streamlined theirs a bit and made it ridiculously beneficial to contribute. Unless something changed over the weekend, AoW's is still terribly awkward. I'm hoping it works out for them, nonetheless.

At the end of the Perk list there is a Contribution option.

Well - it's redundant now - they've finally made some changes and made some new options.

Firstly - the "Get your own Dwarf Hero sculpted" is a STEAL - at $500 - since you also get 100 Dwarves of your choosing to go with it.

Secondly - there's a $5 raffle to enter to win "one of every future AoW release"

They've also added some art prints for $15, a "green" prize draw for $30, and lowered the price on the "gaming" tour to a pretty reasonable $1000.

It's nice to see the effort being made after it looked like they'd given up hope on it all.

Their $5 raffle is interesting. If only a handful of people make that contribution, chances of winning the raffle are VERY good.

I love their artwork. So I'm getting that one. Several times, if possible. considering the huge number of unpainted models I have, it's probably better that way anyhow.

    Re: Dwarf Army funding campaign!

Not too sure the raffle will be allowed, since one was forbidden on another Indiegogo project: http://www.indiegogo.com/infamy-watson?c=activity

    WHERE’S THE PRIZE DRAW?
The sorting out that I mentioned earlier – a few days ago the IndieGoGo team informed me that raffles weren’t allowed as perks. Unfortunately the wording in the terms and conditions (which I actually read before putting this campaign up, for like the first time ever!) wasn’t too clear about it and I genuinely didn’t know that it would cause problems. Alas, legal law type stuff means it can’t be a perk, so there is no longer a raffle.

If that alters how you feel about you contribution please get in touch with me and I will do whatever I can to make up for it.

It also means that the Lottery stretch goal is no longer relevant, so I’ve replaced it with ‘Story Time’. You’ll get a pdf of a cool Doctor John Watson short story. This applies to all perk levels.

Sorry for the change up. I wish it could have been avoided, but myself and the team at IndieGoGo have done all we can to resolve this in a satisfactory way for all of the contributors.

Revising the pledges, including the clarification about multiple pledges will help. I really hope Felix makes the 20k.
I do hope the raffle doesn't get axed. It should entice people to donate small amounts.

    The raffles have been axed.

Those who perked for them will however participate in a raffle which AoW holds outside of Indiegogo's domain, with good chances of winning this fabulous prize! But wouldn't that only be if the funding campaign is a succes, in effect reaching above $20k?

    Re: Dwarf Army funding campaign!

Posted this over at CDo and though I'd share my thoughts here as well:

    My thoughts:

    1. The savings on ordering f.e. a unit box of 20 miniatures is not big enough, which would necessitate additional incentive to get folks to pledge. Like a freebie or exclusive addition.

    2. The timing of both Mantic and AoW is not very good, when they saw that Sedition Wars was up they should've given their respective projects more time or preferably launch at a later date.

    3. Sedition Wars is doing one critical thing that I think both Mantic and AoW have missed - they have their miniature prototypes (not all of them) ready, which I think is a big incentive, since you can actually see the thing you'll be getting. In my personal case I'd be interested in seeing how Mantic's new Immortal Guard will look like, but without even a concept sketch to go by it's not as if I'll readily pledge for them.

    4. The focus is too narrow - there's already a whole bunch of dwarf miniatures out there. They should've added something unique for their particular universe which isn't readily available elsewhere - be it themed terrain pieces, new sculpts for other races that haven't been previously unveiled, combo-packages including miniatures already available for example.

Oh, and I can't seem to find the rules for the Warthrone gaming system anywhere? At this point in time I think it's crucial to have it out there, seeing as how not exactly everyone is fond of WHFB 8th anymore - a pledge option for the rules or with an exclusive that'd appeal to many people or have a high "attraction" (I.E "Cool") might've been just the thing at this point in time.

I do of course hope that this venture turns out well for them and I'm hoping to see a follow-up in the future.

    Re: Dwarf Army funding campaign!

I agree, especially with points 1 and 3.
I like AoW's stuff, I bought five boxes of their Berserkers and I am likely to buy future Dwarf units they might release.
Their indiegogo is thoroughly underwhelming, though.
So I can buy 50 Dwarfs (which I have no idea what they'll end up looking) for $95. Or 100 for $190. Yeah, that's going to get me to up my investment.
And just compare their project to Mantic's, who are throwing in bunches of free minis left and right.
There just isn't any incentive for me to give them my money to do things that will earn them money.

The updated version is a bit better though, I'm getting some art. But agreed it could have been much better done (and timed, as mentioned Sedition Wars really blew everyone else out of the water).

They convinced me to pledge when they added the artwork option, too. I would have thrown a little bit down on dwarves (and I might still), but not nearly as much as I would on prints.

As an aside, this was posted in the comments section of the fundraiser.

What army do you guys plan on doing next via this? shame I’m a bit skint at the moment because the tour sounded interesting, you guys plan on doing something like that again?

Mark, probably Dark Elves, but not sure yet…

Thanks so much for all the new contributions! It will be a close call at the end, but really hope we make it!

    Re: Dwarf Army funding campaign!

@Satan - agree with all the points you made. I think the biggest issue is 1), the initial rewards. There should have been more of them and they should have scaled better with pricing (even just as simple as $95 for 50, $175 for 100, $250 for 150 etc), but really just to be thought through better so people are rewarded for contributing more, and all higher level backers are rewarded when total contributions hit the goals. The changes they have made in the last few days were an improvement, so hopefully they will learn from this so their next campaign will be better supported. I really hope they make it to $20k though, would love to see the dwarf army produced.
