    halo themed gaurd help

im planning on doing a halo themed gaurd force but ive hit a bit of a speed bump.

    the helmets
i need various kinds from unsc marine, odst helmets and spartan helmets problem is i cant find any that would fit....except the fish bowl style helmet from the dark eldar wych sprue as a spartan helm variant

    armoured spartan legs
    again no ideas for these

    assault rifle and battle rifle
the mantic corproation guns would work as asault rifles with a bit of an edit but you cant buy them seperate.....

the bodys will mainly be elysians as they look perfect for unsc marines...

any ideas will help ive mainly been thinking that it would be easier to commision someone to make me a mould especially for the guns and helms...

eventually ill be doing more such as doing arbiter warthogs mongooses and pelicans and of course the chief himself so suggestions on these would help as well

In terms of heads, I seem to remember Pig Iron do some helmeted heads that look pretty similar to halo. Then again, there's also the halo clix models you could gut for parts if you can track em down

Since HALO clix is now a part of regular heroclix now, it should be a lot easier to track them down.

As someone whose thought about this a lot, let me chuck some ideas at you...

    - The Pig Iron route.
The system troopers range is pretty close to spartan armour if a little blocky (personally, I prefer it). With there vast range of different heads you could easily have a full team of spartans if you wanted.

    - The Mantic route.
There rangers remind me a lot of ODST's for some reason, and with a bit of re-sculpting here and there should be easily turned into standard marines or ODST's.

    - The Elysian route
Seems like the easiest, but its not. The rifles would need conversion, as would the heads. You'd also need to remove the chest respirator and do more bits and pieces which, on forge world models, isn't going to be very forgiving.

If you do have the funds to be looking at converting elysians in the first place, it might be worth considering getting them done as a private sculpted project. Each marine would set you can between £100-£200 depending on the quality of the sculpt, and you wouldn't be able to recoup your costs, but by the time you've bought and converted the elysians, plus the time you'd spend, it might actually work out cheaper. This option also has the advantage of letting you get all the guns sculpted in CAD, and lets you have a bit of creative control. In theory, you'd need one torso, 2-3 leg options, 2-3 arm options and maybe two heads all of which you could expand on in time. It is something I've chewed over a few times, but I've got a bit too much on my plate right now to do it despite having the funds. Let me know how you get on, and if I can help any more just shoot me a PM

    Re: halo themed gaurd help

    thanks for the reply guys
the pig iron models whilst good dont really scream halo to me and while the haloclix models look nice online ive seen the figures in real life and they are actualy quite bad

the mantic guys would be good but im aiming for a force to use at gw and tournies so i chose elysians wouldnt mind trying to get hold of there guns bit of work and they would make great assault rifles

looks like i may have to commision someone to do a mould for me....3 or 4 heads for marines and odst ,2 for spartans and maybe get the guns done as well...

anyone got suggestions on someone cheap but good?

Those people don't exist - having spent the past month or so looking for sculptors be prepared to spend the money to get quality, but you tend to find that if quickly pays off in that regard. Moldings separate to sculpting, so thats another price bump but thats fairly negligible if you want lots of troopers.

Having said that, if you want them for GW and tournies, you only option is to use elysians.

Someone did do a Halo themed army back in the day but unfortunately the website with them on no longer exists I second using Elysian parts, the price is the only downside
