With other models bits can at least press downwards on eachother for support. I think I exhausted 2 bottles of liquid greenstuff to fill up the gaps and keep the wings to stay on.
Have you seen the old Slann? It's kinda infamous for being next to impossible to assemble.
Anyway, I haven't seen the Terradons in their separate parts, but from the pictures of the assembled models it looks to me like there is plenty of room for pinning.
And if there isn't the design of the model is to blame far more than the material.
Take a look, for example, at what kind of pose Freebooter is able to produce in metal while designing the parts in a way that makes assembly easy.

Okay, in those few examples I agree. And since I don't have Terradons in my army yet I might even buy some at some point in the future. Currently I do not have enough faith in their quality control to do so, though.

Have you uploaded pictures of them in the Finecast Feedback thread? I guess not (I'm quite sure, actually, given the odds), but I think many Space Marine players would gladly see good Veterans. There is one Veteran kit which has massive problems in Finecast, could be this one...could be another SM Kit.

In any case and to all of you: If you got good or even superb models: Please upload them to the Finecast Feedback Thread in GW General!

I think it might be Sternguards, just because I've bought them

I got a few freebooter minis, and while they're lovely, I'm sorry to say, but the multipart ones were a pain to assemble.

I have more than a few myself and from my experience the ones that are a pain to assemble are an exception (the only one that comes to mind is Torpe). For the most part the Freebooter guys seem to put a lot of thought into the design to make the assembly as easy as possible, whereas I've had many GW miniatures (like the aforementioned Slann, Hellcannon and Lord of Change) where I got the impression that the designers did not care at all that people would have to assemble them.

GW minis are meant to be bought, not assembled, you silly person!

I'd argue with that...but then I look at all the boxes of unassembled minis in my closet....

Hell, yeah, I just got the finecast Louen before assembling (or selling) the metal one... that's obviously true.

In our shop when we sell van and sternguard vets-as with othe fincast boxes - we open them - and assemble 1 so-so normal box from 2 the other goes back to gw as the quality is horrible - hope they ll fix in in a year or 2, as nearly half of their casts are not nearly satisfying

The store I bought my Sternguards in also seems to be doing this, since they replaced the combi-plasma with another combi-melta accidentally. Not that I mind. It still didn't help that one vet who had massive holes in his head and shoulderpads.

Hey, it's a veteran, battle damage seems to be appropriate... maybe it's a feature, not a bug!

Yeah, but I bought Sterguard Veterans kit, not the Space Marine Casualties kit.

That bad, huh? Do You happen to have any pics of them? I begin to think I may have been quite lucky with my first finecast...

I already filled the holes with a mix of liquid greenstuff and mr. hobby. The only thing I can show now is an undercoated, partially painted mini with shoulderpad details shaven off (they were beyond help).

You're one of the few who do this. The shop by me just flat out refuses to carry Finecast because of the issues and they don't want to deal with the returns back to GW in the numbers they'd get.

    Re: Finecasts in June

When I returned the first Louen to a GW store in Warsaw they also offered to swap some sprues should the replacement box contain miscasts (we did open it in-store) but there was no need for that. On the other hand they claim to have hand two or three replacements in their month or so of operation.

This kind of seems to go along with my theory that independent retailers get more miscast products, while they keep the best pieces for their own stores. I wonder, if I bought a finecast kit from a retailer, could I bring it to a GW store for replacement, since they represent the company that is issuing the warranty on the item anyway? Not that I will have a chance to do that, since I'm half a country away from GW Warsaw.

    Re: Finecasts in June

In GW Muenchen I was told that all GW stores would take any GW miniature for replacement, no matter where purchased, as long as it is genuine (and that would certainly not be a problem with Finecast). In Warsaw staffers didn't even want to see a receipt from Muenchen.
